New York may be an unconventional home for a bull riding team, but the New York Mavericks turned out to be right at home in the concrete jungle when they hosted the inaugural Maverick Days this past weekend. Plus, the Carolina Cowboys stayed hot, the Austin Gamblers kept climbing the standings, and more. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.
On the PBR Team Series…
BROOKLYN, DAY 1
The Mavericks started their homestand with a bang, upsetting the Kansas City Outlaws with a commanding victory. Additionally, the Nashville Stampede defeated the Oklahoma Wildcatters, the Cowboys trounced the Texas Rattlers, and the Florida Freedom beat the Arizona Ridge Riders.
Thanks to their win, the Cowboys remain undefeated at 7-0-1 and were cheered on by General Manager Austin Dillon in Brooklyn.
BROOKLYN, DAY 2
The Mavericks closed things out at the Barclays Center with another win on Saturday, defeating the Freedom with a clutch ride from rookie Hudson Bolton. Meanwhile, the Outlaws beat the Ridge Riders, the Rattlers clobbered the Stampede, and the Gamblers walked it off against the Thunder.
Meanwhile, on the Challenger Series…
For the second consecutive week, Guilherme Valleiras and Claudio Montanha Jr. went 1-2 at the PBR Stockyards Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas.
Up north in PBR Canada…
2022 PBR Canada Champion and Arizona Ridge Rider Nick Tetz had a busy weekend north of the border. On Thursday, he notched an event win in Tofield, Alberta…
…and on Saturday, he won again in Elnora to take over the No. 1 rank in Canada.
