PUEBLO, Colo. — After seeing squads flip flop up and down the standings for the first seven or eight weeks, the tour appears to be settling into some patterns as the regular season quickly winds to a close.
We don’t know the official six squads who will get the instant invite to compete inside T-Mobile Arena during the 2024 PBR Teams Championship quite yet …
… but we sure know two of them, as the No. 1 Carolina Cowboys and No. 2 Kansas City Outlaws officially punched their tickets to the postseason last weekend in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Cowboys posted a mere 1-2 record as the latest to underwhelm during their homestand but, thankfully for fans in attendance Friday night, were able to outlast their fellow top-tier Outlaws in securing an opening night victory.
Kansas City was just 1-1 themselves, but their lone win was also enough to see the orange and black unit secure their spot at the end-all be-all.
From there, it’s literally a toss-up, and will likely remain to be one here over the final two weeks of regular season action.
The Florida Freedom and Texas Rattlers have opportunities to join the postseason-clinching fun, albeit in much different fashion. But the other six teams have plenty to lose and plenty to gain, wit the standings as close and dramatic as ever before.
Most teams have just five games remaining, which means they’d be wise to take advantage of each and every out should they want to bring some momentum to Sin City.
With the 11th of 12 regular season showdowns quickly approaching, the epic 5-on-5 action continues this weekend inside Cowtown Coliseum and Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, with all of this summer’s action set to air on Merit Street and the Merit+ App, continuing Thursday night at 8 p.m. CT.
Fans can stay tuned to the league’s official 2024 PBR Camping World Teams Series standings here throughout the action-packed season and are encouraged to share their own rankings with us on @PBR social media channels!
No. 1: Kanas City Outlaws (Week 10 Rank: No. 1)
The Kansas City Outlaws may have dropped their opening night showdown in Greensboro, North Carolina, to the hometown Carolina Cowboys, but the group still managed to exit the weekend with a 1-1 slate thanks to a trio of talented Brazilians leading the team to a 260.75-173.25 final over the Arizona Ridge Riders Sunday. Julio Cesar Marques, Maikon Calixton Rocha and Cassio Dias were the three who stepped up for J.W. Hart’s contingent, each marked higher than 86 points in the win. Victorious in 12 of their last 14 games, they are 392 aggregate score points ahead of their blue and white counterparts. Aka, they’ve been the definition of dominant.
Clinching a spot in postseason play by picking up their 16th win of the summer, now 16-7 overall, they remain ranked above Week 10’s hometown favorites, as Carolina ultimately wasn’t able to take care of business on home dirt last weekend.
No. 2: Carolina Cowboys (Week 10 Rank: No. 2)
The Carolina Cowboys produced an odd 1-2 record at their homestand, thus staying at the No. 2 spot in this week’s power rankings. But it wasn’t all bad news for the NASCAR-fueled team, as they became First team to clinch a spot at the 2024 PBR Teams Championship courtesy of their opening night win against the Outlaws. Which is a good sign for fans of Jerome Davis and his veteran-led squad. And it wasn’t just an average win Friday night, either, as the team went 4-for-5 in electric fashion.
However, the team was collectively just 2-for-10 during their remaining two games, which was not enough to get the job done. Recording a zero Saturday night against the Nashville Stampede before allowing the Missouri Thunder to steal a Sunday afternoon victory, it’s possible the Cowboys were suffering from a bit of a postseason clinching party Friday. But if they want to secure what would be the team’s first-ever regular season crown, they’ll need to continue outpacing the Outlaws here during the final two events of the summer. They are 100% contenders either way.
No. 3: Florida Freedom (Week 10 Rank: No. 3)In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a 19-year-old seemingly out-riding every other man on tour right now. And his name is John Crimber.
Now 242.5 points ahead of No. 2 Brady Fielder, who’s been just as impressive over the past month or so, Crimber has been on fire. Continuing to serve as his team’s closer en route to racking up his tour-best 22-for-33 slate, he’s fueled his team to six-straight wins heading into Fort Worth. The Florida Freedom haven’t just been finding the win column either. After seeing the team record a 347.5-0 win over the Oklahoma Wildcatters on Sunday, they’re now the only team this season to record at least three rides in six-straight games. Talk about momentum at the right time of the season. Sitting at 14-9 on the season while occupying the No. 3 spot, it’s very likely the Freedom clinch their own postseason position this weekend down south.
No. 4 Texas Rattlers (Week 10 Rank: No. 4)
Just like the Freedom, the Texas Rattlers have found their stride over the past month plus. Officially 10-4 since turning their season around in Nashville, they most recently posted a perfect 2-0 record inside Greensboro Coliseum as they maintained their No. 4 spot in both the Week 11 power rankings and official league standings. Beginning the weekend with a perfect game, thus defeating the Missouri Thunder, they quickly followed it up with a quality win over the Arizona Ridge Riders to stay hot. Brady Fielder has been riding out of his mind, now 19-for-26 on the season. Daniel Keeping has converted in each of his last eight outs, which definitely qualifies as a hot streak. Claudio Montanha Jr. is enjoying a late-career resurgence. Things are just vibing well for Head Coach Cody Lambert and the Rattlers. Fielder is also leading the Great 8 Award race (which will recognize the cowboy with the highest riding percentage amongst guys who have attempted at least 20 bulls in 2024), as one of the most efficient men on tour. All eyes will be on the Rattlers this weekend as they look to stay perfect in the Metroplex.
No. 5: Austin Gamblers (Week 10 Rank: No. 5)
Another weekend of 5-on-5 fun, another showcase where we just aren’t sure what’s going on with the Austin Gamblers. Michael Gaffney’s team had the opening night off before dropping a one-ride score decision to the Florida Freedom. The green and black unit was able to rebound a bit on Sunday afternoon, albeit only combining for two qualified rides during their 176.25-86 victory over the New York Mavericks. Surely, it was good to see Jose Vitor Leme and Kaique Pacheco team up for a win, but the team needs some quality contributions from its depth riders if they want to make some noise in Las Vegas. They’re already officially on track to finish the 2024 slate with the fewest wins in franchise history, so maybe they’re just saving some magic for the 2024 PBR Teams Championship next month?
Regardless of records, it’s been encouraging to see the “Ice Man” pick things up after going 2-for-2 on the weekend. The veteran was on the board in their first game of the weekend alongside Guilherme Valleiras, but the pair of scores weren’t enough to take down their red, white and blue opponents. Teaming up with Pacheco to defeat the New York Mavericks on Sunday, Leme is still down to the No. 4 spot in the MVP race, 419.75 points behind No. 1 Crimber. They and the No. 6 Stampede have a path to the postseason. They’ll just need to pick up a few wins over the home stretch while seeing if any of the league’s bottom four make their own runs.
No. 6: Nashville Stampede (Week 10 Rank: No. 6)
Sporting an identical record as the Austin Gamblers at 11-12, the Stampede haven’t had a perfect season. But they know at least four other teams right now they’ve been able to outlast. Which is both a good sign for Nashville and another reminder of how weird the standings are this season. The last team that should feel “good” about their postseason odds, they’ll need to show up here over the course of the final two showcases if they want to avoid the Ride In Round. Riding a four-game win streak ahead of the Week 11’s tilt in Texas, they’ve also been able to right the ship.
Which can’t be a good sign for any of the squads ranked below the Stampede, as Nashville also qualifies as the squad most likely to fall out of the Top 6, all things considered. Justin McBride has had his guys ready to ride lately. And if that remains the case, they’ll fare just fine during their trio of showdowns this weekend. Most importantly, a Friday night contest against the No. 5 Austin Gamblers could very well decide which of the two squads will compete inside T-Mobile Arena.
No. 7: Missouri Thunder (Week 10 Rank: No. 8)
The Missouri Thunder were just 1-2 last weekend but seeing them conclude the three-day showcase with a big win over the hometown Cowboys means they have something to build on in Week 11. They may have dropped their first two games of the weekend but there’s not much you can do when you see your opponent produce the league’s fifth perfect game, exactly what the Rattlers did against Missouri last weekend. Their second showdown of the event was a bit closer but the Thunder came up .75 points short, dropping their game against Oklahoma. Able to upset the Cowboys 257.75-174 on Sunday, they’re sitting at 10-14 but still 2.5 games back of the No. 6 Stampede.
They aren’t out of the running just yet but a few more losses would officially seal the deal on them competing in the Ride In Round. However, the same could be said for each of these final four squads, so at least they’re the closest contingent within striking distance. As long as Paulo Eduardo Rossetto and Boudreaux Campbell are getting the job done (both of which recorded three conversions in North Carolina), they’ll have a chance to climb back up the ladder.
No. 8: Oklahoma Wildcatters (Week 10 Rank: No. 9)
Opening night bye, returned to action by taking care of the Thunder, albeit by just .75 points. Three-score games are what you want to see at this point in the season, so Head Coach J.B. Mauney and folks had to be happy about their Saturday night success.
Yet, when the team returned to action on Sunday only to produce a no-score effort in a 347.5-0 loss to the trendy Florida Freedom, it became apparent the year one squad still has plenty to put together if they want to qualify for the dramatic postseason gauntlet in their first-ever opportunity. Oklahoma has a pair of riders ranked in the Top 15 of the MVP race, which features Eduardo Matos in the No. 6 spot and Cort McFadden in the No. 13 hole, which are two great signs for the blue and brown group. If they end up finding themselves competing at South Point, they have to be one of the favorites to punch their ticket via the Ride In Round, as they just have too much explosivity to not.
No. 9: New York Mavericks (Week 10 Rank: No. 7)
The Mavericks remain one of the most mysterious squads on the circuit once again, sometimes showing electric flashes and sometimes showing nothing at all. Just 2-for-10 as a team last weekend, they dropped showcases to the Austin Gamblers and Florida Freedom, two teams which sit above them in the standings. If they want to make a late-season push for a guaranteed postseason placement, they’ll have to go through the Stampede or Gamblers at this point. So, dropping a head-to-head bout against the Gamblers didn’t help their odds. It was encouraging, however, to see Mason Taylor record his first qualified ride in his most recent threads after besting That Thang for 86 points. Officially two games back from the Stampede and Gamblers, they need wins against anybody at this point, set to square off against a pair of Show Me State contingents in the Outlaws and Thunder.
No. 10: Arizona Ridge Riders (Week 10 Rank: No. 10)
Officially 4.5 games back from the Gamblers and Stampede at 7-16 on the season, the Arizona Ridge Riders will be officially locked into a Ride In Round spot with a pair of losses this weekend. Which, after going 0-3 last weekend and now enduring their second six-game losing streak of the season, appears to be likely all things considered. Projected as one of the league’s Top 3 threats at the beginning of the season, things just haven’t gone how Arizona imagined. The weird part about this instance is that the team, on paper, remains one of the more potent squads on tour despite their unideal situation. They’ve been occupying the basement of the standings for a while now, so it just doesn’t appear to be their year. However, that talent could shine once again next month during the league’s ever-dramatic Ride In Round, so anything is possible. For now, they can play spoiler to any of the circuit’s other nine teams in Fort Worth before hopefully putting on a show for their hometown faithful next weekend.
