Dalton Kasel has been closing in on the top of the Unleash The Beast World Championship standings all season, but this past weekend, he finally got his first event win of the year. Plus, the PBR Camping World Team Series made some headlines, Marco Eguchi discussed his yearlong absence from the premier series, and more. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the Unleash The Beast…

Dalton Kasel may have started the 2024 season slowly, but he ain’t slow anymore. After finishing second last weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, he won the Ariat PBR Indianapolis with a 3-for-3 showing and sits comfortably at No. 4 in the standings.

It was also a big weekend for Alan de Souza, who won Round 1. However, he doctored out of the championship round after a hard wreck in Round 2 but still finished fourth overall.

Before last weekend in Jacksonville, the last time we’d seen Marco Eguchi on the premier series was at the 2022 PBR World Finals. In Indianapolis, the 10-time World Finals qualifier discussed the reason for his absence – and it’s definitely not what you think!

Also on hand in Indianapolis for the first time in a long time was two-time World Champion and new Oklahoma Wildcatters head coach J.B. Mauney, who secured his team the first pick in the 2024 PBR Teams expansion draft. Speaking of PBR Teams…

On the PBR Camping World Team Series…

The 2024 PBR Teams event schedule has been announced, featuring a 12-event regular season and a revamped PBR Teams Championship in Las Vegas.

You heard it here first, but J.B. Mauney is returning to the PBR as the head coach of the Oklahoma Wildcatters.

Back in the PBR for the first time in three years, Mauney is ready to hit the ground running with his new squad.

Over on the East Coast, 2009 World Champion Kody Lostroh was announced as the head coach of the New York Mavericks, while 2002 World Champion Ednei Caminhas will serve as assistant coach.

After two years as the assistant coach for the former Oklahoma Freedom, Lostroh is ready to sink his teeth into the Big Apple.

Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…

Hunter Ball won Round 1 in Bridgeport, Connecticut

ultimately tying for the event win with Grayson Cole.

In Knoxville, Tennessee, Thiago Salgado went a perfect 2-for-2 to emerge victorious.

Up north in PBR Canada…

Two-time PBR Canada Champion Cody Coverchuk won the 5/5 Bucking Battle and tied for the Round 1 win in Lethbridge

but it was another PBR Canada Champion, Nick Tetz, who took the event win.

In the Touring Pro Division…

It was a pretty solid weekend for Thiago Salgado, as before he headed to Knoxville, he went 2-for-2 to win the PBR Stockyards Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas.
