#InCaseYouMissedIt: Dias stuns with win No. 4, rookies continue dominance and more

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

Each time Cassio Dias climbs on the back of a bull, it has the potential to be special. This past weekend in Los Angeles, it was extra special. Plus, the other rookies also continued dominating, Ezekiel Mitchell got back in the groove, and some more familiar faces were victorious on the Velocity Tour. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the Unleash The Beast…

No. 1 Cassio Dias is having one hell of a debut season on the Unleash The Beast. At the Michelob ULTRA PBR Los Angeles, presented by Ariat, Dias earned his fourth event win of the season, riding the No. 1 bull for the league’s highest score in two years.

Let’s talk about some other rookies, too, shall we? Marco Rizzo had his best UTB showing to date with a third-place finish

while rookies took six of the Top 11 spots overall in LA. The kids, it turns out, are alright!

Jose Vitor Leme is not a rookie – rather, he’s a two-time PBR World Champion – but after a lengthy absence due to a groin injury, it was refreshing to see the champ return to the winner’s circle with the Round 1 victory.

Ezekiel Mitchell has also recently spent some time off the UTB as he fell victim to the cutline, but he got some of his mojo back with a qualified ride in Round 1.

Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…

Josh Stepp won Round 1 of the Boot Barn PBR Youngstown in Ohio

but Dawson Branton went a perfect 3-for-3 to take the event win.

Meanwhile, in Memphis, Tennessee, old friend Dener Barbosa went 2-for-2 to win the event.

In the Touring Pro Division…

For the second week in a row, Jean Fernandes Pereira won the PBR Stockyards Showcase with a 2-for-2 performance.
