MEMPHIS, Tenn. – As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) returned to Memphis, Tennessee, Saturday night, Dener Barbosa (Paulo de Faria, Brazil) was unstoppable, securing the event win as one of three riders to go 2-for-2.

In Round 1 of the night, Barbosa was paired with Cold Front (Barrett/D4), firing out of the chutes for an impressive 84.50 points. 

As the extraordinary animal athletes of the PBR showcased their supreme agility throughout the championship round, besting all but three cowboys, the 29-year-old Brazilian cowboy conquered his matchup against Johnny Rocket (Richardson Land/Cattle Co #2) for 86.5 points. 

For his 2-for-2 night, Barbosa netted 123.5 Velocity Global points. 

Austin Gamblers’ athlete Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil) was hot on Barbosa’s heels on Saturday night, capturing second place overall.

Divino was paired with Clown (Julian Cattle #2) in Round 1, collecting 84.5 points for his qualified ride.  

He then headed on to the championship round where, to the Tennessee crowd’s delight, Big John (Lonnie and Amy Austin) was no match for Divino, when he successfully rode for an amazing 85 points.

Divino collected 83 Velocity Global points for his 2-for-2 weekend. 

With a determined look, Leandro Zampollo (Pirassununga, Brazil) conquered his Round 1 matchup against Sticky (CIL Cattle CO), turning in an 83-point ride.

The 23-year-old then hoped to keep the momentum going in the championship round aboard Whip (Richardson Land/Cattle Co), reigning victorious in the matchup, he rode for an electrifying 85 points.

Zampollo earned 65 Velocity Global points for his third-place finish. 

Divino’s Austin Gamblers’ teammate Ramon De Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil) captured fourth place

In Round 1, the Brazilian was matched with Wooderson (Blake Sharp/Chris Utz/UB Bucking Company), earning the highest ride score of 86.5 points.

Looking to continue his hot streak in the championship round, Lima was paired with Easy Day (Julian Cattle). Despite his efforts, the bovine athlete won the matchup, dispatching Lima after 3.82 seconds.

Despite his short round buck off, the veteran cowboy earned 49 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 for Saturday night in Memphis was another Austin Gamblers’ athlete, Adriano Salgado (Batatais, Brazil). In the opening round, he was paired with Redline (D4 Cattle Co), eventually exiting the matchup with an 86-point ride and second-place finish in the round.

Going into the championship round, the 25-year-old cowboy was matched up with Twisted Feather (Blake Sharp/Michael Floyd/Cain Kobert). The incredible animal athlete came out victorious, bucking Salgado off just before the eight, at 7.58 seconds.

For his 1-for-2 weekend, Salgado netted 35 Velocity Global points.

The talented bull riders of the PWVT will next head to Hampton, Virginia for the GOVX PBR Hampton at Hampton Coliseum February 23-24, and Worcester, Massachusetts for the PBR Worcester at DCU Center on February 24-25.
