#InCaseYouMissedIt: Gamblers win long-awaited PBR Teams title

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By Darci Miller

Folks, we have a champion! This past weekend, we wrapped up the season with the 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series Championship, and the Austin Gamblers finally climbed the mountain. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the PBR Team Series…

PBR TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP, DAY 1

The PBR Teams Championship kicked off with the Ride-In Round at South Point Arena, where the Nashville Stampede and New York Mavericks took down the Oklahoma Wildcatters and Arizona Ridge Riders to advance.

The No. 10 Mavericks earned their spot in T-Mobile Arena thanks to a gritty performance in the Ride-In Round.

The No. 7 Stampede, meanwhile, were locked in and ready to chase another title.

PBR TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP, DAY 2

On the first day of competition inside T-Mobile Arena, the No. 3 Florida Freedom, No. 4 Texas Rattlers and No. 6 Missouri Thunder won their respective games to advance, while the No. 5 Austin Gamblers squeaked through to the next round via the Last Chance Game.

The underdog Thunder took down the Gamblers in their head-to-head matchup, expanding their Cinderella playoff resume.

The Rattlers were playing for their teammate Brady Oleson, who retired due to a neck injury earlier this year.

PBR TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP, DAY 3

The Gamblers rebounded in a huge way on Saturday night, riding four bulls to advance to their second consecutive Championship Sunday alongside the Freedom, Kansas City Outlaws and Carolina Cowboys.

The red-hot Freedom were having fun and riding high after two walkoff wins

while the Gamblers had regained their confidence after a slow start and a funky season.

PBR TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP, DAY 4

The Gamblers completed their comeback story on Sunday, going 13-for-15 in two days of competition to claim the 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series Championship.

After the Gamblers made a blockbuster trade for Kaique Pacheco in June, Pacheco went 4-for-5 in Las Vegas to help carry the team to the title.

This weekend was the end of an era as three-time World Champion and 2022 PBR Teams Champion Silvano Alves officially called it a career.

Up north in PBR Canada…

Nick Tetz won the PBR Canada Cup Series event in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to move to No. 1 in the national standings.
