FORT WORTH, Texas – It’s Brady Fielder’s world, and we’re all just living in it.
Last week, before Rattler Days, PBR.com broke down Fielder’s league-leading riding percentage – which was then 73.08% -- and how he was leading the race for the Great 8 award, which will be given out at the end of the regular season to the rider with the highest riding percentage with at least 20 outs. The winner also receives a $25,000 bonus.
The Rattlers have historically done well on their home turf and continued the tradition last weekend, going 3-0 to improve to 9-0 all-time in Fort Worth.
And no rider was hotter than Brady Fielder.
With three games and three shootout rounds, Fielder got on six bulls during the weekend and only bucked off a single time.
Not only does he still lead the race for the Great 8 award, but he extended his lead by nearly a point over new No. 2 Jose Vitor Leme. Fielder’s riding percentage is now a whopping 75% (24-for-32). In 2023, Leme won the MVP award going 20-for-29 with a 68% riding percentage.
Great 8 Award Standings
1. Brady Fielder, Texas Rattlers – 75%2. Jose Vitor Leme, Austin Gamblers – 67.74%
3. Sandro Batista, Kansas City Outlaws – 64.52%
4. John Crimber, Florida Freedom – 63.89%
5. Cooper Davis, Carolina Cowboys – 60%
In addition to the Great 8 award, Fielder is also now in control of the race for the regular-season MVP award, a $100,000 bonus given to the rider with the highest aggregate score at the end of the regular season.
Sitting at No. 2 behind John Crimber heading into Rattler Days, Fielder’s 5-for-6 showing dusted Crimber’s 1-for-3, moving him to 111.5 points – a bull and a half, essentially – ahead of Crimber.

Fielder’s incredible weekend in Fort Worth began with an 89.25-point effort on Desert Twister before he suffered his only buckoff of the weekend in the shootout round that evening, coming off Tulsa Time in 4.02 seconds.
The following night, he rode Flyin’ Wired for 86 points before going for 89.25 points again in the shootout round, this time on Woody.
And on Saturday night, he rode Wingman for 87.5 points before heading to yet another shootout round, where he rode Magic Hunter for 91.75 points.
The home crowd blew the roof off Dickies Arena, and the Rattlers – who clinched a berth at the 2024 PBR Camping World Teams Championship in Las Vegas on Oct. 18-20 earlier that night – gathered to celebrate on the back of the chutes.
And right there to congratulate Fielder on his ride was Crimber.
Suddenly, the softspoken Australian is the star of the season.
“That’s why he is at the top of the list right now,” stock contractor and Merit Street color commentator Cord McCoy said when Fielder’s 91.75-point score was announced, “and he continues to do it time and time again. We watched him do it three times in 15 minutes last night. This guy is on fire.”
The Rattlers head to Ridge Rider Days in Glendale, Arizona, this weekend with a bye on Friday night (10 p.m. ET on Merit Street). Therefore, Fielder has a maximum of four more outs left in the regular season. He hasn’t bucked off two in a row since July, but if he stubs his toe this weekend, Crimber and Leme will be there to capitalize. Leme, the two-time reigning PBR Teams MVP, won’t give up his crown so easily, and Crimber doesn’t want another second-place finish so soon after his heartbreaking runner-up showing in the 2024 World Championship race.
The drama is coming down to the very end, and you won’t want to miss a moment.
