#InCaseYouMissedIt: Florida Freedom entertains hometown crowd via 2-1 record, pair of Shootout Round wins

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By James Youness

The PBR Camping World Team Series spread its wings in the Sunshine State for the very first time as the Florida Freedom earned a quality 2-1 record while securing a pair of flashy Shootout Round victories. After a rough start to the season, the Austin Gamblers recorded three-straight wins as they turned things around in Sunrise, Florida. And we witnessed the league’s first tie of the season between the Oklahoma Wildcatters and Carolina Cowboys.

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the PBR Team Series…

FREEDOM DAYS, NIGHT 1

The Oklahoma Wildcatters edged out the Kansas City Outlaws in the weekend-opener before the Austin Gamblers picked up their second win of the season during a big win over the Arizona Ridge Riders, thanks to Jose Vitor Leme and company. And the red-hot Carolina Cowboys extended their win streak to six via a close match with the Missouri Thunder. Unfortunately for the hometown Florida Freedom, the red, white and blue squad stumbled in their home debut, falling to New York Mavericks inside Amerant Bank Arena on night one.

Adriano Salgado stepped up for the league’s front-running Cowboys as a mid-lineup presence once again.

FREEDOM DAYS, NIGHT 2

The Florida Freedom bounced back in a big way, picking up a big win in walk-off fashion during the evening’s finale before winning the Shootout Round. The Gamblers made it two straight, defeating the Rattlers, while the Ridge Riders bested the New York Mavericks by a mere 4.25 points. In a one-ride effort, the Thunder beat the Nashville Stampede, 83.75-0.

Austin’s win wasn’t just any victory, either, as the Gamblers’ showdown with the Texas Rattlers kicked off the interstate rivals’ Texas Cup competition.

FREEDOM DAYS, NIGHT 3

The Freedom closed out their weekend by delivering a commanding victory over the Missouri Thunder on their way to securing their second Shootout Round win of the weekend! Kansas City took care of the Texas Rattlers in a tight game before the tour witnessed its first tie of the 2024 campaign between the Oklahoma Wildcatters and Carolina Cowboys, while the Gamblers closed their perfect 3-0 weekend out with a victory over the Nashville Stampede.

Meanwhile on the Challenger Series…

The Austin Gamblers’ Guilherme Valleiras was victorious at last week’s PBR Stockyards Showcase.

Hector Cardona won big at the Adams County PBR in Brighton, Colorado, as the only man to double down, while Trevon Coonradt picked up a victory at the 6th Annual Dickinson PBR in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Up North in Canada…

Wade Marshall reflected on winning his career-first PBR in Lacombe, Alberta.
