#InCaseYouMissedIt: Alves rides No. 500, Leme wins MVP title and PBR Teams Championship field is set

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By Darci Miller

It was a busy freaking weekend at Rattler Days in Fort Worth, folks. Silvano Alves reached a historic milestone, Jose Vitor Leme closed out an incredibly tight MVP race, and the PBR Teams Championship first-round matchups were officially decided in a down-to-the-wire contest. Oh, and the Texas Rattlers repeated as champions on their home turf. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the PBR Team Series…

FORT WORTH, DAY 1

The Rattlers kicked off their weekend with a huge win over the Oklahoma Freedom.

The Nashville Stampede had an even bigger win over the Austin Gamblers

…punctuated by Silvano Alves’s 500th career qualified ride. He’s just the fourth rider ever to join the 500 club. Parabéns, Silvano!

The Kansas City Outlaws showed up big against the Arizona Ridge Riders in their pursuit of a first-round bye at the PBR Teams Championship.

The Carolina Cowboys snapped a five-game losing streak by defeating the Missouri Thunder.

FORT WORTH, DAY 2

The Rattlers upset the No. 1 Gamblers on Saturday night to remain undefeated all-time at Dickies Arena.

The Outlaws defeated the Thunder for their second win of the weekend

clinching a first-round Championship bye in the process. Not a bad turnaround for the No. 7 seed in 2022!

The Stampede also improved to 2-0 with a win over the Cowboys.

The Freedom, meanwhile, got off the schneid with a defeat of the Ridge Riders.

FORT WORTH, DAY 3

The Rattlers defeated the Stampede to improve to 3-0 before winning extra outs to take home their second consecutive homestand victory.

The Gamblers squeaked past the Thunder, but it was enough to secure their second consecutive regular-season championship.

Two-time World Champion Jose Vitor Leme – bleached hair and all – also clinched his second consecutive MVP title in what turned out to be a tight race with the Outlaws’ Cassio Dias.

The Outlaws simply ran out of time to catch the Gamblers for the No. 1 playoff seed, but they still went 3-0 with a win over the Freedom.

The Ridge Riders got into the win column with a one-point win over the Cowboys.

And with that, the regular season concludes and the first-round matchups for the PBR Teams Championship are set!

Meanwhile, at Rodeo Carolina…

Saddle bronc rider Isaac Diaz was in contention for the WCRA’s Triple Crown of Rodeo and $1 million bonus at Rodeo Carolina.

While Diaz wasn’t successful, a group of underdog athletes were.

Let’s goooo, Marcus!

Just GOAT things.

The Outlaws were also killing it on the East Coast this weekend!
