At Freedom Fest, the Arizona Ridge Riders became the first team that’s not the Austin Gamblers or Kansas City Outlaws to win a PBR Camping World Team Series event this season. Plus, the Missouri Thunder became a family affair, Silvano Alves is nearing a career-defining milestone, and more. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.
On the PBR Team Series…
OKLAHOMA CITY, DAY 1
The Ridge Riders started the weekend with a huge upset win over the Gamblers…
…as they tried to prove the No. 1 team in the league isn’t really all that. Grab your popcorn for this rivalry!
The hometown Oklahoma Freedom rode three bulls to secure a big win over the Carolina Cowboys.
The Missouri Thunder squeaked out a win over the Nashville Stampede courtesy of closer Briggs Madsen’s walk-off heroics.
In another close game, the Texas Rattlers outlasted the Kansas City Outlaws.
OKLAHOMA CITY, DAY 2
The Ridge Riders kept their momentum rolling on Saturday with a win over the Outlaws.
It was the Stampede’s turn to upset the league-leading Gamblers…
…thanks to Silvano Alves, who notched career ride No. 494. He recorded No. 495 the following day, and looks to become just the fourth rider in PBR history with 500 career rides.
The Thunder rolled to their first two-win weekend of the season with their defeat of the Cowboys.
The Rattlers closed out the evening with a resounding defeat of the Freedom.
OKLAHOMA CITY, DAY 3
The Ridge Riders became just the third team to win an event this season and the second to do so without needing extra outs, beating the Freedom on their home turf.
The Outlaws rode three bulls to defeat the Thunder…
…but it was still the Thunder’s best weekend of the season, and it came thanks to brothers Briggs and Kade Madsen.
The Gamblers finally got into the win column with a solid win over their in-state rival Rattlers.
The Stampede closed out their weekend by defeating the Cowboys.
At Heroes and Legends…
Who’s the greatest bull of all time? According to Cody Lambert, that honor belongs to SweetPro’s Bruiser, who received the Brand of Honor.
Meanwhile, on the Challenger Series…
Sandro Batista went 2-for-2 to win the Stockyards Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas.
In Kennewick, Washington, Conner Halverson led after the first night of action…
…but John Crimber went 3-for-4 to earn his fourth event win in less than a month.
