#InCaseYouMissedIt: Gamblers pull away atop standings with league-best fourth event win

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

By Darci Miller

With just two regular-season events remaining before the 2023 PBR Teams Championship in Las Vegas, the Austin Gamblers are back to looking unstoppable. Plus, Sage Kimzey returned in a big way for the Carolina Cowboys, Chase Outlaw hit a big milestone, and more. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the PBR Team Series…

GREENSBORO, DAY 1

The Gamblers began Cowboy Days in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a win over the Missouri Thunder.

The hometown Cowboys, meanwhile, opened the weekend with a win over the Arizona Ridge Riders thanks to walk-off heroics from Cooper Davis and a 90-pointer from a returning Sage Kimzey.

The Kansas City Outlaws recorded a resounding 101-point victory over the Oklahoma Freedom.

The Texas Rattlers were very nearly perfect, going 4-for-5 in their defeat of the Nashville Stampede.

GREENSBORO, DAY 2

The Gamblers finally defeated the Ridge Riders for the first time this season thanks to a 90-point ride from – who else? – Jose Vitor Leme.

The Outlaws stayed hot with a decisive win over the Rattlers.

The Stampede came out strong on night two, defeating the Thunder by one ride score.

The Freedom came out strong to defeat the Cowboys on their own home turf.

GREENSBORO, DAY 3

The Gamblers put a bow on their league-best fourth event win of the season with a big win over the Freedom.

The Stampede eked out a close win over the Cowboys thanks to Chase Outlaw’s 200th career ride.

The Ridge Riders got back into the win column with an even closer margin of victory – just 1.25 points over the Outlaws.

In yet another close win, it was the Thunder outpacing the Rattlers.

Meanwhile, on the Challenger Series…

Carlos Gomes Junior went 1-for-2 at the Stockyards Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, but it was good to notch the event win.

Joao Paulo Fernandes won Round 1 of the Fairfax Invitational

…and went on to go a perfect 3-for-3 to earn the event win.
