Behind the Lens: PBR Teams Anaheim

Following the conclusion of the third event of the 2023 PBR Camping World Team Series season, the Austin Gamblers continue to sit atop the league standings with a perfect 7-0 record after going 2-0 in Anaheim, California. Eventually parlayed by another Jose Vitor Leme title-clinching ride as part of the tour’s new “Extra Outs,” the two-time World Champion sealed the deal Sunday with an epic 91-point journey aboard Brusta. Picking up wins over the Carolina Cowboys and Kansas City Outlaws, will the Gamblers keep their flawless record alive this weekend at Stampede Days?

As the only other team to post a 2-0 record during game play, despite recording just two qualified rides in the event, the Oklahoma Freedom defeated the Missouri Thunder and Nashville Stampede en route to earning a spot in the new tie-breaking round, but Thiago Salgado was dispatched from his final opponent, July, in a heartbreaking 7.3 seconds.

With four teams producing 1-1 records inside Honda Center, it was the Outlaws who ultimately rounded out the podium finishes. Racking up a total six qualified rides over the two-day event, including 2-for-2 showcases from rookie Cassio Dias and Koltin Hevalow, the orange and black squad continue to track as one of the league’s hottest teams, now 4-1 throughout the last two events.
