Behind the Lens: 2023 PBR World Finals Round 6

Continuing his quiet, but elite, 2023 campaign, No. 4 Dener Barbosa captured the Round 6 win Saturday night courtesy of a 90-point showdown with Sugar Smack. Just the fourth rider to meet the elite mark throughout the opening six sessions, he garnered a crucial 89 UTB points to surge within the Top 5 in the world and up to the No. 7 spot on the event leaderboard. Slated to dance with a familiar opponent in I’m Legit Too Sunday afternoon, he’ll look to stay hot as he makes a run at what would be his first gold buckle.

Tying for second-place honors and rounding out the podium finishes, Rafael Jose de Brito and Kyler Oliver produced matching 89.5-point results during their respective matchups with Short Circuit and Shameless Saturday evening. Jumping to the top of the event leaderboard with his ride, No. 5 Brito now holds a 4.5-point lead atop the aggregate standings with 268.25 points, while Oliver improved to No. 20 in the premier series standings while remaining tied with Jose Vitor Leme, Joao Ricardo Vieira and Marcus Mast at 17th in the event.
