Behind the Lens: 2023 PBR World Finals Championship Sunday

Securing the first Triple Crown in 30 years of PBR history, Rafael Jose de Brito successfully captured both the 2023 World Finals event title and Rookie of the Year honors en route to earning his first-ever gold buckle as the 2023 World Champion. Posting a 4-for-8 performance, the talented Brazilian entered the year-end competition 425 points back from No. 1 Kaique Pacheco, whom the 31-year-old dedicated the historic run to during a postgame interview after seeing his fellow countryman suffer a pair of injuries during the regular season finale in Louisville, Kentucky.

2023 Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion Josh Frost earned the Round 7 win courtesy of a flash 90.5-point ride atop DirtyBru and later doubled down to win the short go as the only rider to meet the 8 in the exclusive round.

Sweeping the podium finishes in green, blue and yellow fashion, Brazilians Wingson Henrique da Silva and Ramon de Lima rounded out the overall event results, respectively representing each of their best finishes in the world’s largest bull riding stage.

Andrew Alvidrez recorded the highest-scored ride of the weekend in Round 5, courtesy of an epic 91.5-point effort aboard Red Mosquito, while bovine standout Ridin’ Solo added to his trophy collection by being named Bull of the Finals and capturing his second YETI World Champion bull honors.
