SACRAMENTO, Calif. – No. 1 Dalton Kasel (Muleshoe, Texas) won Round 2 of the Ariat PBR Sacramento, presented by Cooper Tires Saturday night as PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Unleash The Beast (UTB) event raged on before a sold-out crowd inside Golden 1 Center.
“Mr. 90 Point” occupies the third spot on the event leaderboard courtesy of his 90.55-point strike aboard Sour Patch, now trailing only three-time World Champion Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) and No. 7 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas) ahead of the event’s finale, set to conclude Sunday, Feb. 1 at 1:45 p.m. PT (2 p.m. PT on Paramount+).
“I’m extremely blessed. I wouldn’t be anywhere without the Lord. I’m just so thankful that he’s put me on this podium. I’m just having a lot of fun right now riding bulls,” said Kasel on the Paramount+ telecast.
“It’s awesome. The crowd has such a huge role in this. It was great bull rides all night long and no better place to do it than Sacramento.”
Earning 29 UTB points for his second round win of the year, Kasel now sits 63 points ahead of No. 2 Julio Cesar Marques (Tatuí, Brazil) atop the UTB standings.
Leme, however, remains atop the event leaderboard ahead of Sunday’s third round, as the Brazilian standout went the distance Saturday just the same. Scored 88.30 points for his 8 seconds of greatness atop Nefarious, the red-hot rider remains in control as he searches for his first event title of the season.
Parlaying his 87.5-point ride aboard Creedmore Precision in Round 1 with an 88.4-pointer against Hookie Monster in Round 2, the 20-year-old Crimber sits just 1.60 points behind Leme in the aggregate via his second-place standing.
Earning 18 UTB points en route to leaping No. 3 Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma) for the tour’s second rank, Marques turned in the second-highest score of the night in the form of an 88.85-point dance with Tacky Jack to earn runner-up honors on the night.
Cowboys exited 12 of the first 13 outs with conversions as the pack wasted no time putting on a show inside Golden 1 Center during the second night of the three-day showcase.
By the time the second round concluded, a tour-season-high 26 qualified rides were in the books, the most logged in any single UTB round in 2026, which included 11 different riders who produced perfect starts to the weekend.
Veteran Joao Ricardo Vieira became the first man to double down on the evening, which started a run of seven consecutive riders advancing to 2-for-2 as the entire second section posted qualified rides during a red-hot stretch Saturday night.
Cort McFadden (Novice, Texas) and Clay Guiton (Cherryville, North Carolina) round out the event’s Top 5 contenders as of Saturday night. Guiton logged an 87-pointer atop Apple Juicing to stay perfect, while McFadden was scored 87.90 points aboard Big Man
Action for the Ariat PBR Sacramento presented by Cooper Tires concludes with Round 3, immediately followed by the championship round on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 1:45 p.m. PT (2 p.m. PT on Paramount+).
Sunday’s final slate of competition in Sacramento is available on Paramount+. This weekend’s Monster Energy Team Challenge games will air Sunday, Feb. 1 at Noon ET on CBS Television Network.
