Carolina Cowboys and Richard Childress Racing media availability at Greensboro Holiday Parade on Dec. 6

Fresh off their championship seasons, the Carolina Cowboys and Richard Childress Racing’s No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet team to serve as co-grand marshals of the 2025 Greensboro Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 6.

By Jackie Franzil

WELCOME, N.C. - Following banner years in both the PBR Teams league and the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Richard Childress Racing is headlining the Greensboro Holiday Parade as co-grand marshals with the Carolina Cowboys and the No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet team to celebrate bringing two national championships to the Piedmont Triad. Both teams will be available for interviews in advance of the parade.

The Carolina Cowboys, the Carolinas’ first-ever professional bull riding team, made history in 2025 by clinching the PBR Teams World Championship, becoming the first major professional sports team to win a title for the state since 2006. The team is owned by NASCAR legend Richard Childress and notable entrepreneurs and agriculturalists Jeff and Tammie Broin. Two-time NASCAR champion and 2018 Daytona 500 champion Austin Dillon serves as general manager of the team. The team’s title-clinching campaign in Vegas was headlined by North Carolina’s own Clay Guiton (Cherryville) who also won the tournament’s MVP honors.

RCR’s No. 2 Whelen Chevrolet team clinched the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship by bookending the season with wins at both Daytona International Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. The championship marked Jesse Love’s first NASCAR title in his sophomore campaign, and RCR’s 17th.

The Greensboro Holiday Parade has been a tradition for more than 40 years. Featuring huge Macy’s-style balloons, spectators will also enjoy professional floats, dance and drill teams, and the area’s best middle school, high school and college bands as they march along the streets of downtown Greensboro.
