Key Storylines...

For the hometown Kansas City Outlaws, the spotlight shines brightest on Sunday’s CBS Game of the Week, when they collide with their in-state rivals, the Missouri Thunder. The rivalry matchup will air coast to coast as part of CBS’s national broadcast window, raising the stakes even higher for bragging rights in Missouri.

Across the league, rosters are getting a boost with the conclusion of the PRCA regular season. The Texas Rattlers welcome back Qynn Andersen, who ranks No. 2 in the PRCA rookie standings, while the New York Mavericks will see the return of Rookie of the Year contender Hudson Bolton. Bolton, fresh off a 92-point ride and leading the PRCA rookie race, will make his PBR Teams debut in Kansas City. Their arrivals add depth to two teams pushing for postseason momentum.

The Carolina Cowboys are navigating injuries, with Daylon Swearingen sidelined and his Finals status uncertain, while former two-time world champion Jess Lockwood will be in the rotation this weekend. The Nashville Stampede, meanwhile, look to ride the high of taking down the league-leading Florida Freedom. For Florida, closer John Crimber continues to gut it out despite injured ribs that make it hard to call him even 70% healthy — but the bench isn’t an option for the phenom.

Out West, the Arizona Ridge Riders await the return of Luciano de Castro, who is stitched up and expected to ride after a head injury in Fort Worth.

This weekend in Kansas City promises to be one of the most pivotal of the season — playoff berths on the line, rivals clashing in the national spotlight, and the energy of Outlaw Days turning T-Mobile Center into the epicenter of the PBR Teams race.
