Texas Rattlers beat no. 1 Florida Freedom to earn final first-round bye as field is set for PBR Teams Championship in Las Vegas, oct. 24-26

In must-ride situation, John Crimber of Florida Freedom wins league MVP award for second straight year.

By Taylor Riemersma

GLENDALE, Ariz. – In a thrilling final day of the 2025 PBR Camping World Team Series regular season, the Texas Rattlers beat the No. 1 Florida Freedom to clinch a first-round bye in Las Vegas after the Arizona Ridge Riders were stunned in their home finale, opening the door for Texas.

In the must-win battle for a chance to secure the crucial bye at the PBR Teams league Championship, the Rattlers prevailed over the Freedom 345.25-172.25 to improve to 23-12 as Florida fell to 25-10. Texas rode four bulls for the second-straight game, led by Brady Fielder (88.25 points on Rank Hank), Daniel Keeping (87.25 on Project X), Winy dos Santos (86.25 on Rafiki), and Claudio Montanha Jr. (83.5 on Hillbilly Heat). Elizmar Jeremias rode Malibu’s Top Dawg for 86 points for the Freedom.

Fielder’s ride temporarily put him atop the MVP Race before being knocked off by John Crimber, who leap-frogged the Aussie with an 86.25-point ride on Smooth Violation, making the 20-year-old the league MVP for the second straight season. Crimber took over the top spot last night after teammate Thiago Salgado failed to earn a qualified ride, and he bested Fielder today to win the buckle by 84 points. He went 25-for-34 on the season for a riding percentage of 73.53%, while Fielder, who began the season on the sidelines with a broken leg, rode 75% of his bulls to go 24-for-32 on the season.

Over the course of two MVP seasons, Crimber is 54-for-77 (71%). He and Jose Vitor Leme of the Austin Gamblers are the only two riders to have won MVP in the league’s four seasons.

Florida, Austin, and Texas have the first-round byes heading into Las Vegas.

The surging Nashville Stampede clinched the sixth seed for the Teams Championship with a 171.75-86.25 win over the 11-14 Kansas City Outlaws, rising to 15-20. Nashville heads to Las Vegas red hot, winning seven of their last nine games.

Nashville’s leadoff man Alan de Souza knocked down his seventh ride in a row, going 84.75 points on Sunrise. Kansas City regained the lead in the third with Heitor Santos Ferreira scoring 86.25 points on The Gambler. Nashville capped off the victory when Cody Jesus went for a game-high 87-point ride on Pay Dirt.

A night removed from clinching a first-round bye in Vegas, the Austin Gamblers (24-11) defeated the New York Mavericks (9-26) 262.75-170 with a roster showing their deep bench ahead of the Teams Championship in two weeks. Callum Miller earned the first ride for Austin with 87.25 points on Wingnut, followed by Lucas Divino tallying 86.75 against Mouse Trap on a re-ride. Dener Barbosa put the icing on the cake with a game-high 88.75 points on Tigger. The Gamblers went 3-0 in Glendale after being shut out last weekend in Kansas City.

The Mavericks’ Leonardo Castro bested Iron Banana for 82.75 points ahead of the closing 87.25-point ride by Hudson Bolton aboard Average Joe. New York will be one of three teams competing in the play-in game in Vegas.

In a game where the bulls took repeated physical liberties on the roughed-up riders, the No. 5 Carolina Cowboys (19-16) defeated the No. 9 Oklahoma Wildcatters (11-24) 86.75-82.75. Jess Lockwood, a two-time PBR World Champion, won the game for the Cowboys with an 86.75-point ride against The Jungle – only the second time the bull had been ridden in his career 26 outs. Kase Hitt rode In My Blood in the final frame for 82.75 points, falling four short of the walk-off win.

The No. 7 Missouri Thunder (15-20) defeated the No. 4 Arizona Ridge Riders (22-13) 169.25-87.75, playing spoiler to the home team and taking away the first-round bye in Las Vegas for the Teams Championship.

Paulo Eduardo Rossetto kicked off the game strong for the Thunder with an 86.25-point ride against Real Deal. Arizona’s Everton Natan da Silva responded by besting Darkside for 87.75 before Maverick Smith put up 83 more points for Missouri, sealing the game.

With the conclusion of the 2025 PBR Camping World Team Series regular season, the teams will head to the PBR Teams Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 24-26 in a survive-and-advance bracket format. The action will open with the Three-Way Play-In Game featuring the No. 8 Kansas City Outlaws, the No. 9 Oklahoma Wildcatters, and the No. 10 New York Mavericks.
