BELMONT PARK, N.Y. - The Florida Freedom claimed their eighth straight victory at UBS Arena Thursday night, rising to 19-5, tying for the league record for most games won in a single season with 11 more games to go in the 2025 season.
The victory came over the Missouri Thunder 253-86.75 who fell to 10-14. Thiago Salgado put the Freedom on the board in the first with 88.25 against Wicked Solo. Salgado, the league’s MVP Race leader, rode his 18th bull to remain one ahead of Brady Fielder for the Texas Rattlers. João Ricardo Vieira then lasted eight on Mississippi Mercenary for 75.75 points and declined a re-ride option. John Crimber closed it out with a game-high 89 points, besting Hard Eight for eight.
The Austin Gamblers rode four bulls against the Kansas City Outlaws for a 338.5-84.5 win, rising to a 17-7 record and second in the standings. Kansas City fell to 8-16 on the season. Leadoff man Sage Steele Kimzey earned the first ride of the night on I’ll Make Ya Famous for 86 points. Dener Barbosa danced with Jonah Hex for 79.75 points while declining a re-ride attempt. Next to put points on the board was Dalton Kasel with 84.25 on 38 Special before Jose Vitor Leme silenced the crowd with an 88.5-point ride, the highest score of the game.
The Carolina Cowboys improved to an even 12-12 record with their sixth-straight victory 260.5-169.5 over the Oklahoma Wildcatters who fell to 8-16. Adriano Salgado bested Hay Train for 84.5 points for the Cowboys’ initial ride, followed by Glay Guiton atop Blue Silhouette for 86.5 points. 2016 World Champion Cooper Davis’ 89.5 on Lights Out was the game’s highest score. Two rides by the Wildcatters would fall just short in the outing.
In the Mavericks Days opening night finale, the Nashville Stampede edged host New York Mavericks 258.5-255 in a shootout. Alan de Soza clinched the first ride of the game for 87.5 points against Eyes On Me. Cody Jesus followed with 87.5 aboard Bex Red Eye, and Daniel Feitosa put the game out of reach with 83.5 on Black Velvet. Marco Rizzo had a chance to walk it off for the Mavericks, for the second straight game, but while making the 8 he fell short on points.
In a tale of one ride to open up Maverick Days, the Texas Rattlers shut out the Arizona Ridge Riders 84.75-0 to rise to 15-9 as the Ridge Riders fell to 17-7. Brady Fielder rode Josey Wales for 84.75 points in the lone ride needed for the Rattlers. Fielder’s ride was his 17th of the season while marking his fifth straight qualified ride.
Day two of the action continues at UBS Arena at 7:45 p.m. ET Friday night, streaming exclusively on FOX Nation to continue the New York Mavericks’ homestand.
