BELMONT PARK, N.Y. – Riding four bulls to the roaring delight of a raucous Saturday night crowd at UBS Arena, the New York Mavericks defeated the No. 1-ranked Florida Freedom courtesy of season-high 346-point performance.

With the league leaders riding a nine-game winning streak into Saturday night’s matchup against the league’s No. 10-ranked team, New York’s stunning win over Florida is being called the biggest upset in PBR Teams history.

New York’s 4-for-5 performance also served as the second-year franchise’s first-ever four-ride score win as the expansion team that entered the league in the 2024 season improved to 3-2 all-time competing in the Empire State.

Florida’s leadoff man Thiago Salgado defended his lead atop the PBR Teams MVP race courtesy of an 88-point conversion atop Wicked Solo, but New York’s Bob Mitchell quickly answered with 87.5 points of his own. Briefly granting the Mavericks an early advantage, Leonardo Castro scored 84.75, but veteran Alex Cerqueira chipped in a clutch 89 points in the third frame to recapture the lead for the Freedom.

The blow-for-blow affair continued as the Mavericks’ Mauricio Gulla Moreira roared out of the chutes and lasted the requisite 8 to earn 87.25 points and ignite the hometown crowd. Joao Henrique Lucas added icing to the cake with an 86.25-point conversion to cement a 346-177 final.

Florida remains atop the league standings at 20-6, while the Mavericks remain in the No. 10 spot with a 6-20 regular season slate.

Earlier in the night, Sage Steele Kimzey fired up the defending PBR Teams Champion Austin Gamblers with an 88.5-point conversion to start Saturday’s opening game. Following suit moments later, 2018 World Champion Kaique Pacheco recorded his first qualified ride of the season for 87.5 points after missing the first two months of the campaign. Dalton Kasel made it 3-for-5 for Austin on the night via an 85.75-pointer as the Gamblers defeated the Nashville Stampede 261.5-0 to advance to 18-8 on the season. The Stampede fell to 8-18.

The Missouri Thunder kicked off Game 2 with some early electricity thanks to qualified rides from Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (83.5) and Maverick Smith (87.5), which served as the ultimate difference makers in the team’s 171-87.75 victory over the Kansas City Outlaws. Missouri earned a 2-1 lead in the Show Me State Showdown rivalry while improving to 11-15 on the season. Dalton Krantz provided the Outlaws’ lone conversion via a game-high 87.75-point qualified ride as Kansas City fell to 9-17 in 2025.

Saturday’s third game, another upset proving that on any given night anything can happen in PBR Teams, started with a back-and-forth flurry of qualified rides in each of the game’s first four outs. Everton Natan da Silva (84.75) and Eduardo Aparecido (85) produced 8-second efforts for the third-ranked Arizona Ridge Riders, while Wingson Henrique da Silva (84.25) and Josh Frost (86) answered for the No. 7 Oklahoma Wildcatters. Guilherme Valleiras added an 84.25-pointer in the fourth frame as Oklahoma secured a 254.5-169.75 win over Arizona. The Wildcatters exited UBS Arena with a 10-16 slate, while the Ridge Riders dropped to 17-9.

The No. 4 Texas Rattlers put the finishing touches on the team’s 3-0 showing inside UBS Arena during a 176.5-81.25 victory over the Carolina Cowboys. 2016 World Champion Cooper Davis improved to 3-for-3 on the weekend via 81.25 points during the game’s opening out. However, Rattlers’ leadoff man, MVP contender Brady Fielder, recorded a Day 3-high 89.5 points aboard Lights Out. Daniel Keeping logged the game’s only other ride, an 87-point effort, as Texas exited the weekend with a 17-9 record. Carolina dropped to 13-13 on the season, albeit still occupying the league’s No. 5 rank.

PBR Teams action resumes at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, with Rattler Days, starting Friday, September 26 through Sunday, September 28. The opening day’s slate of games include:

Nashville Stampede vs. Missouri Thunder
