Austin, Texas – On home turf, the Austin Gamblers earned a huge victory to close out the second day of Gambler Days Saturday night over the Texas Rattlers.
The Gamblers (9-4) defeated the Texas Rattlers (8-5) to tie their instate rivals for the most wins in Teams history at 63. The Gamblers also evened the Land.com Texas Cup at seven wins apiece. In a game dominated by the bull athletes, Dener Barbosa owned the lone ride of the night for the Gamblers for the 86.25-point win. The Gamblers remain second in the standings while the Rattlers fall down to fourth.

In other action the Florida Freedom (9-4) fell just short of their second perfect game this season, riding four of five bulls for a 339.75-170.25 win over the Nashville Stampede (4-9), moving into first place ahead of the Arizona Ridge Riders and Austin Gamblers. Thiago Salgado and Soul Train made it interesting out the gate with an 88.25 ride to start. Following Salgado, Yan Victor Cunha made the most of his opportunity atop Big Jake to tack on 86.75 points. Elizmar Jeremias (79) and John Crimber (85.75) closed out the game with back-to-back rides for the Freedom.
The Carolina Cowboys (6-7) also went 4-for-5 to pick up another win, 345.75-168.5 against the Missouri Thunder (6-7) Saturday night. Rejuvenated two-time PBR World Champion Jess Lockwood earned the highest score of Night 2 in Austin atop Chico for 89.25 points, followed by Clay Guiton’s 83-point ride on Blowhard. Guiton tied the record for consecutive rides at 10 and sits atop the MVP standings by a full ride. Ethan Winckler made 87.5 for the Cowboys with Daylon Swearingen collecting 86 points in the final ride of the matchup.
The Oklahoma Wildcatters (4-9) defeated the New York Mavericks (3-10) 173.5 in shutout fashion Saturday night at Gambler Days. Wingson Henrique da Silva lasted all eight atop Henry for 85.5 points. Cort McFadden earned 88 on board Top Dollar in the final ride of the night for the Wildcatters. It was surging Oklahoma’s third straight win under head coach J.B. Mauney.
The bulls showed up loud and proud, bucking off each rider to climb aboard, leading to the fourth all-time 0-0 game in PBR Teams history when the Arizona Ridge Riders (9-4) and Kansas City Outlaws (6-7) were blanked tonight in Austin. Luciano De Castro had the lone ride of the night, but with Damaged Goods failing to buck the whole time, a re-ride was awarded and taken.
The bulls controlled the night’s action, bucking off 35 of the 50 riders before they could make the whistle on the second day of Gambler Days.
Action resumes with the Gambler Days event finale Sunday at 1:45 p.m. at the Moody Center.
