CAMROSE, Alta. – As a raucous Saturday night crowd watched on in Camrose, Alberta, at the Camrose Recreational Centre, Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) showed up and showed out, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division’s Rose City Invitational, surging to No. 2 in the nation.

Coverchuk began the event in fast form, finishing second in Round 1 when he rode Night Fury (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 84 points.

The two-time PBR Canada Champion then clinched the event win in the championship round when he bested More or Less (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 86.5 points.

Garnering 115.5 national points, Coverchuk surged from No. 5 to No. 2 in the race for the 2025 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus. He now trails No. 1 Jake Gardner (Fort St. John, British Columbia) by 39.5 national points.

Gardner was shutout in Camrose. He was bucked off by Jet Black (Skori Bucking Bulls) in 3.4 seconds in Round 1.

Garrett Green (Meeting Creek, Alberta) and Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) tied for second.

For Green, following an 83-point ride on Bow Before Me (Vold Rodeo/Prescott) in Round 1, he delivered the high-marked ride of the Rose City Invitational when he went the distance on Whiskey Moon (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 87 points in the final round.

On the hunt for his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Green earned 85 national points and climbed from No. 15 to No. 6 in Canada. He is now 118.5 points behind No. 1 Gardner.

For three-time PBR Canada Champion Roy, he delivered matching 85-point scores, making the whistle on Wild Time (Vold Rodeo) and Patiently Waiting (Skori Bucking Bulls). Leaving the Camrose Recreational Centre with 88 national points, Roy catapulted from No. 18 to No. 7 in Canada, climbing within 132 points of No. 1 Gardner.

Eric O’Flynn (Quesnell, British Columbia) was fourth. He earned 38.5 national points courtesy of an 84-point ride on Watermelon Sugar HI (Kinky Buckers) from Round 1.

O’Flynn is now ranked No. 8 in Canada after travelling to Camrose No. 12 in the standings.

Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fifth was Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta), Brock Radford (De Winton, Alberta) and Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta), all delivering an 83.5-point ride.

Hansen and Radford both covered in Round 1, riding Grind My Gears (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) and Short Order (Skori Bucking Bulls), respectively, to collect 27.2 national points each.

Despite the Top 5 effort, Hansen slipped from No. 4 to No. 5 in Canada, now 93.83 points behind No. 1 Garnder. For Radford he climbed from No. 17 to No. 12.

Robbins was successful in the championship round, topping Moonwalk (Thompson Rodeo Livestock), taking home 27.7 national points. He rose one position in the Canadian standings climbing from No. 19 to No. 18.

In the bull pen, Grand Funk (Kinky Buckers) and Slash Tide (Vold Rodeo) bucked supreme, tying for the Bull of the Event honors, each marked 43.5 points in the championship round.

Grand Funk lit up the scoreboard when he tossed Rafael Parra (Mandaguaçu, Brazil) in 3.32 seconds, while Slash Tide impressed when he upended Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil) in 3.61 seconds.
