Marcus Mast collects second win of 2025 Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour season in Fresno, California

As the only man to go 2-for-3, the Kansas City Outlaws veteran won big out west.

FRESNO, Calif. – The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) returned to Fresno, California, where Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) was unstoppable, securing his second PWVT event win of 2025, as the only man to go 2-for-3.

The 30-year-old, who rides for the Kansas City Outlaws in the separate PBR Teams league, was dual-entered for the weekend. His first time out of the chutes Friday night, he had the excited California crowd cheering as he fired into the arena aboard On the Spot. He made the 8, scoring 83.5 points.

Hoping to keep the same momentum going as he looked ahead to his second matchup of the night against Thunderstruck, he burst from the chutes, making it to the whistle and besting his first mark with an 86-point score. The conversion landing himself in the No. 1 spot going into Saturday evening.

Early on Saturday he was paired with Buckle Bunny to turn in an impressive, round-winning 83.5-point ride and move into the championship round as the No. 1 man.

Despite his best efforts, his second bull for the evening, Wholley Mammoth, threw him to the dirt after 3.66 seconds.

Setting his sights towards the championship round, he geared up as he was matched with Hard Core Slinger. As he erupted from the chutes, he was unable to make the 8, hitting the dirt at a mere 2.71 seconds.

Despite his less-than-ideal championship round, he was still able to secure the No. 1 and No. 2 spots for the weekend, collecting a combined 204 Velocity Global points and moving to No. 2 in the Velocity standings.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

Homestate cowboy, Aaron Williams (Pismo Beach, California), finished in third place at Save Mart Center.

The 28-year-old cowboy had a less-than-ideal Friday night when he bucked off Wilson after 4.27 seconds.

Knowing he had to hit the gas on Saturday, Williams was paired with Red Wave as the night began. To the California crowd’s delight, the bovine was no match for Williams’ wiry athleticism. Being one of only two men to make the 8 in the second round, with a solid 79 points, Williams headed into the championship round.

Despite his best efforts, Little Tex won their final round matchup, throwing Williams to the dirt after 2.73 seconds.

Williams collected 53 Velocity Global points for his third-place finish and now sits at No. 3 in the Velocity standings.

Friday night’s third-place man, Jace Catlin (Toledo, Washington), rounded out the top 4 for the weekend overall.

With a determined look, 34-year-old Catlin conquered his Round 1 matchup with West Coast Rain, turning in a 71-point ride.

From there, despite a valiant effort to stay aboard his Saturday night opponents, he couldn’t convert.

The Washington cowboy’s first-round score helped him leave Fresno with 30 Velocity Global points.

The talented bull riders of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will next head to Eugene, Oregon, for the PBR Eugene at the Matthew Knight Arena Apr. 4-5.
