FORT WORTH, Texas – At the 97th iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Jean Fernandes Pereira (Crixas, Brazil) and Guilherme Valleiras (Pirassununga, Brazil) were the only two riders to make the 8, splitting the event title. 

In the opening round, Pereira rode Rafter H 124 (Rafter H Rodeo Livestock) for 83.5 points while Valleiras matched him aboard Show Magic (Raymond & Coy Henry/Lidgard), also for 83.5 points. 

Both attempted to break the tie in the final round, but Night Agent (Lee Bucking Stock/Viducic) proved too much for Pereira after just 2.43 seconds while Holy Shift (Viducic/Julian Cattle) bucked off Valleiras in 1.81 seconds. 

Both riders left Cowtown Coliseum with 39.5 Velocity Global points. 

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May. 

In a dominant bull pen that allowed just two rides Thursday night, Ridgeback (Raymond & Coy Henry/Lidgard) was marked 45 points for his buckoff of Saul Zambrano (Jalisco, Mexico) in 4.73 seconds to take home the Bull of the Event title.  

The PBR Stockyards Showcase returns on Thursday, April 3. Action inside Cowtown Coliseum will get underway at 7:30 p.m. CT.
