Starting lineups, draw revealed for PBR Indianapolis

Kansas City Outlaws, Missouri Thunder set to reignite rivalry via Show Me State Showdown Feb. 14.

By James Youness

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –  With 12 events in the rearview, we’re officially into the second half of the 2025 Unleash The Beast campaign. And despite a whole bunch of hot starts and recent mid-season momentum, it still feels like we’re JUST GETTING STARTED!

Which is true in a sense, as the top-ranked bull riders in the world have less than three months until the sport’s grand finale invades both Cowtown Coliseum and AT&T Stadium for the 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast

But until the May mayhem rolls around, there’s a job to be done for these next 11 weekends.

And while the quest to claim the sport’s coveted gold buckle has been raging for the past three months already, there’s always a renewed since of focus each time the premier series’ cowboys load into each arena.

Which brings us to Friday night’s Ariat PBR Indianapolis, presented by Cooper Tires, which is set to take over Gainbridge Fieldhouse for two action-packed nights of entertainment.

Knowing the Kansas City Outlaws are looking for some revenge against the Missouri Thunder (after seeing the rivalry’s “Little Brother” capture the original iteration of Monster Energy Team Challenge, presented by Camping World, action a few weekends back in Sacramento, California) means J.W. Hart and company will likely have his guys ready for redemption.

After making some noise during his rookie campaign competing for the Outlaws, rookie Maikon Calixton Rocha is preparing to make his UTB debut Friday night during a Round 1 dance with Gravedigger, while Indiana native Marcus Mast readies for his head-to-head opportunity against Bad Intentions

Also debuting within the premier series is Carlos Andre de Oliveira, one of the team’s recent Guilherme Marchi-scouted talented, as the orange and black-dressed unit continues to get some of their potential prospects some looks at the industry’s best. Add in a pair of Top 10-ranked riders in No. 8 Julio Cesar Marques and No. 10 Sandro Batista and the team seems a bit more balanced.

At the same time, it’s quite clear Ross Coleman very much believes in his guys to stay the course after completing the upset last month. And with a trendy switch-hitter in Paulo Eduardo Rossetto, he knows at least one of his guys will be riding into their hand.

Most of Missouri’s lineup has been active in the UTB standings at different parts of the 2025 campaign, so it wouldn’t be unfair to view the red and yellow unit as the favorites in this one.

Then again, that’s why we play the game!

2025 PBR Unleash The Beast Standings:
1. Brady Fielder (582 points)
2. John Crimber (477.5 points)
3. Luciano De Castro (463.33 points)
4. Dalton Kasel (432 points)
5. Lucas Divino (411.5 points)
6. Sage Steele Kimzey (405.75 points)
7. Cort McFadden (306.08 points)
8. Julio Cesar Marques (298.33 points)
9. Keyshawn Whitehorse (294 points)
10. Sandro Batista (288.33 points)

When it comes to bumps and bruises, Bob Mitchell appears to be the only new addition to the officially injury report, while the pack will welcome back 2022 World Champion Daylon Swearingen Friday night, who’s missed the past two showcases.

Sitting in the No. 33 spot, he’s sitting damn close to the cut line bubble, so a few rides would go a long way in Week 13. Just the same as Fast Eddy’s big run kept him away from Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) relegation just last weekend.

Accepting an invite to the big tour after capturing a PWVT event title in Youngstown, Ohio, Joao Lucas Campos, a man who’s made some noise within the 5-on-5 landscape in the past, is in this week’s starting lineups as he attempts to parlay his recent success Friday night.

Melvin Byler will be looking to do the same, fresh off a big PWVT win in Reading, Pennsylvania. However, his Round 1 dance with Mama’s Boy will represent his outright premier series debut as he looks to make a name for himself in a BIG way.

With the tour’s Top 2-ranked cowboys combining for a 1-for-4 record last weekend in Salt Lake City, could there be some room on the big board for said fresh, standout talents?

Guys like No. 3 Luciano De Castro and company should be hungry and ready to take advantage of the duo’s potential slow stint.

And knowing how capable and consistent No. 4 Dalton Kasel has been in 2025 as he chases down the sport’s top honors, it sure seems like a storm is brewing this weekend in Indianapolis.

At the same time, both No. 1 Brady Fielder and No. 2 John Crimber are very likely to rebound from unideal performances inside Delta Center when the tour invades the Midwest for two nights of man vs. beast entertainment.

Lineups and draw are in for the thirteenth of 23 regular season Unleash The Beast showdowns, so we’re taking a closer look at Friday night’s matchups, rematches and everything you need to know ahead of the weekend’s opening slate!

With the premier series primed to invade Indianapolis, Indiana, Feb. 14-15, we’re breaking down starting lineups for competition inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse (With coverage set to begin at 8 p.m. ET via PBR’s YouTube channel and Ride Pass on Pluto TV).
