WORCESTER, Mass. – In front of a raucous, sold-out Saturday night crowd in Worcester, Massachusetts, Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) rode supreme, winning Round 1 of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s BeatBox PBR Worcester inside DCU Center.
Mast was dominant aboard Tigger (C-B Bucking Bulls). He brought the electric, capacity crowd to its feet when he covered the bovine athlete for 83.5 points.
The top score not only propelled Mast to the top of the event standings, but also earned him 28 points in the race for the 2025 PBR Velocity Tour Championship.
PBR’s bovine athletes were a crowd favorite Saturday evening, headlining the event as they surrendered just five qualified rides in 35 attempts, bucking off 85.71% of the competing riders.
Afonso Quintino (Sao Luis dos Montes Belos, Brazil) was second, collecting 18 Velocity Global points.
Quintino secured the silver finish in the opening round courtesy of his 83-point effort on King Pin (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).
Third was Flavio Zivieri (Balsamo, Brazil).
Zivieri outlasted Concrete Golashes (Dave Martin/Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 81 points, netting 17 Velocity Global points.
Joao Paulo Fernandes (Hidrolina, Brazil) parlayed on 80.5-point ride on Duke of Earl (J Bar W) into a fourth-place finish. He left DCU Center Saturday night with 16 Velocity Global points.
Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fifth was Brandon Chambers (Newport, North Carolina).
Chambers made the requisite 8 atop Hot Spot (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 63 points, earning 7 Velocity Global points.
Action for the BeatBox PBR Worcester will conclude with Round 2 and the championship round on Sunday, Feb. 23. Action gets underway at 2 p.m. ET. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com and PBR.com, and at the DCU Center Box Office during operating hours.
