YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – At PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Youngstown, Joao Lucas Campos (Porto Feliz, Brazil) went 2-for-3 to take home the event title.

After tying with Ethan Winckler (Winnie, Texas), who finished second, and Lucas Fideles Souza (Barnstable, Massachusetts), who finished third, by covering Dang, Dang (Waymore Bucking Bulls) for 87.5 points in the opening round, Campos was bucked off by Heavy Load (Clark View Farms/Rafter G Rodeo) in 3.06 seconds in Round 2.

Undeterred, the Brazilian roared out of the chutes aboard Sava (Folsom Point Bucking Bulls) for an event-high 89.5 points in the championship round to take the lead.

The victory garnered Campos 129 Velocity Global points.

Winckler matched Campos in Round 1 by riding Flash (Sterk Bucking Bulls) for 87.5 points of his own.

The Texan then kept it rolling in the second round by topping Savage Mode (Silver Creek/Sailers/UTC/Bucking Bulls) for 86 points to hold the lead heading into the championship round.

There, Winckler initially looked balanced atop Zapata (LH Cattle Co.) before the powerful bovine competitor dislodged him after a heartbreaking 7.31 seconds.

Finishing 2-for-3, Winckler earned 88.5 Velocity Global points.

Souza rode JT Spot (Chicken Hill Buckin Bulls) to match Campos and Winckler with 87.5 points in the opening round.

In Round 2, he converted atop 38 Special (Clark View Farms/Rafter G Rodeo) for 84 points to stay within striking distance of the top spot.

However, Homeboy (K-C Bucking Bulls/Joe & Nina Webb) finally got the better of Souza in the final round, bucking him off in 3.15 seconds.

The final spot on the podium netted Souza 72 Velocity Global points.

In fourth place was Michael Lane (Tazewell, Virginia).

The veteran roared out of the gate atop Senor Carrots (Sappington Bucking Stock/Rafter G Rodeo) for 86.5 points in Round 1.

In Round 2, Happy Gambler (Folsom Point Bucking Bulls) got the better of Lane after 5.13 seconds.

The Virginia cowboy rebounded in the championship round, riding Sanderson (K-C Bucking Bulls) for 84 points.

Lane secured 54 Velocity Global points for his performance at the Covelli Centre.

Rounding out the Top 5 was Jaxton Mortensen (Chino Valley, Arizona).

After riding Knucklehead (‘Diggers Bucking Bulls/K Bar C Bucking Bulls) for 84 points in Round 1, the Arizonan covered Roc Solid (‘Diggers Bucking Bulls/K Bar C Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points in Round 2.

Despite being unable to compete in the championship round due to injury, Mortensen returned home with 44 Velocity Global points.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

In the bull pen, Sava, Smack Ya (3B Cattle Co), and Satans Love (Clark View Farms/Rafter G Rodeo) were all marked 43.5 points to split the Bull of the Event title.

While the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour bucked in Youngstown and Reading, Pennsylvania, the elite Unleash The Beast took over Delta Center for PBR Salt Lake City in Utah.
