BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendelton Whisky Velocity Tour event in Bridgeport, Connecticut, got underway Friday evening inside Total Mortgage Arena, Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) and Dawson Gleaves (Amarillo, Texas) rode supreme, tying for the Round 1 win at the Cooper Tires PBR Bridgeport.

Gleaves and Cole both delivered 84-point rides, earning them each 23 points in the race for the 2025 Velocity Tour Championship.

Gleaves dominated Bugs (J Bar W), while Cole made the whistle aboard Game Day (C-B Bucking Bulls).

Courtesy of a double-entry, Cole also tied for third in the opening round alongside Andy Guzman (Oakdale, California).

Cole and Guzman rode Big Buck (Painted Pony Championship Rodeo) and Big Mouth (C-B Bucking Bulls), respectively, for similar 83-point scores, each collecting 16.5 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Ramon de Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil).

Lima made the requisite 8 on Double Nickle (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 76 points. He left Total Mortgage Arena Friday night with 7 Velocity Global points.

Three additional contenders registered scores in the opening round.

Aaron Williams (Pismo Beach, California), Eric Nova (Vacaville, California) and Zane Cook (Gibson, Oklahoma) will all begin Round 2 with points on the board.

Action for the Cooper Tires PBR Bridgeport will conclude with Round 2 and the championship round on Saturday, March 1. Action gets underway at 6 p.m. ET.
