Dalton Kasel secures Round 2 win in front of sold-out crowd at Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Presented by Cooper Tires

Paulo Eduardo Rossetto tops event leaderboard, 2-for-2 thus far, heading into third and final day inside Golden 1 Center .

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – An electric, second night sold-out crowd inside of Golden 1 Center roared as Dalton Kasel (Muleshoe, Texas) climbed to the top of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Unleash The Beast (UTB) Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Presented by Cooper Tires Round 2 leaderboard on Saturday night.

The 26-year-old, who rides for the Austin Gamblers during the separate PBR Teams league, had no luck in his matchup Friday night with T-Wrecks, thus becoming a man on a mission Saturday in his matchup with Warlock.

The animal athletes of the PBR again displayed their power and strength to the California crowd as Kasel was one of only 18 riders in a 40-man field to record a qualified ride on Saturday night. His standout 88.25-point ride put him in the No. 6 spot on the leaderboard heading into Sunday’s final rounds.

Collecting 28 Unleash The Beast points for his round-winning ride, Kasel holds tight to the No. 4 spot in the UTB standings, a mere 172 points behind world leader Brady Fielder (Clermont, Queensland, Australia). Fielder, who’s in a bit of a slump after his recent hot streak of winning both the Chicago and Pittsburgh events, is currently 0-for-2 in Sacramento.

The three-day event at Golden 1 Center marks the 22nd year the world’s best bull riders have competed in California’s capital city.

After an impressive performance on Friday night, claiming the Monster Energy Team Challenge victory for the Missouri Thunder courtesy of his Round 1 winning ride, Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (Colorado, Brazil) furthered his hold at the top of the event leaderboard as night two rolled to a close.

As one of only five men to start the weekend a perfect 2-for-2, Rossetto conquered Alakazoo in Round 2 for 86.5 points. The qualified ride netted the cowboy 13 UTB points and jumped him from No. 29 to No. 26 in the overall standings.

After being awarded two re-rides on Saturday night, Arizona Ridge Riders man Luciano De Castro (Cassilandia, Brazil) dominated his third opponent of the night. Besting Buckshot for 86.25 points, he now sits at No. 2 in the event as Sunday looms.

The 12 UTB points he earned from Round 2 pushed Castro to No. 5 in the UTB standings.

Austin Richardson’s (Dallas, Texas) successful Round 1 ride paired with his third place finish in Round 2 for 87.25 points against It’s Ok slides him into third place as he prepares for Sunday’s Round 3.

The Nashville Stampede athlete earned 16.5 UTB points on Saturday night and now sits at No. 21 in the world.

In his debut weekend on the elite tour, courtesy of an invite to ride in the Monster Energy Team Challenge for the Kansas City Outlaws, Miguel de Jesus (Camp Alegre de Goias, Brazil) sits at No. 4 in the event aggregate.

Boasting the only ride for the Kansas City Outlaws on Friday night, Jesus kept the energy flowing in the second round with an 85.75-point matchup with Trick or Treat. His standout debut and an added 9.5 UTB points from Saturday night rocketed him to No. 38 in the world.

2018 PBR World Champion Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) rounds out the Top 5 in Sacramento with one day left to gain ground. The “Ice Man,” who rides for the Austin Gamblers during the PBR Teams league season, recorded matching 85.75-point scores on both Friday and Saturday night.

After dominating Black Panther in Round, 2 the cumulative 22.5 world points from both nights ties him at No. 16 in the UTB standings with Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil), who is sidelined due to injury.

Despite a less-than-ideal Friday night, Joao Ricardo Vieira (Itatinga, Brazil) recorded his 450th qualified ride in the PBR when he bested Blackstone in Round 2 for 86 points. Vieira is the fifth man in PBR history to reach the 450-ride milestone.

The action at the Wrangler Long Live Cowboys PBR Sacramento, presented by Cooper Tires will continue with Round 3 on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 1:45 p.m. PT, followed immediately by the championship round.

All three days of competition in Sacramento will be available LIVE and FREE on PBR’s X channel (https://x.com/PBR), RidePass on Pluto TV, PBR’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@pbr), PBR’s mobile app (https://qrco.de/bdtdKp), and PBR’s app on connected TVs, including Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku and Google TV. The stream for PBR Sacramento continues Sunday, Feb. 2.

PBR RidePass on Pluto TV will offer re-airs and on-demand replays of PBR Unleash The Beast events and is available on desktops, laptops and mobile devices via www.pluto.tv.
