Aaron Williams collects first win of 2025 season at Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s sold-out PBR Everett, moves to No. 1 in Velocity Standings

California cowboy parlayed 3-for-4 showcase into a BIG win in Pacific Northwest.

EVERETT, Wash. – The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) returned to Everett, Washington, for a sold-out weekend where Aaron Williams (Pismo Beach, California) was unstoppable as the only man to go 3-for-4, securing his first PWVT event win of the season.

As the two nights in Everett began on Friday night, the 28-year-old was paired with Say When, for a resounding 80 points, to land in the No. 4 position on the event leaderboard. Despite a falter on his second bull on the opening night, he sailed into Saturday.

Early on Saturday he was paired with Gritty to turn in an impressive, round-winning 84-point ride and move into the final round of the weekend.

The two nights in Everett featured a slightly different format than a typical PWVT weekend. Each cowboy had the opportunity to ride two bulls on Friday and two on Saturday, for a total of four rounds. The event champion was determined by the aggregate across all four rides.

As the talented animal athletes of the PBR showcased their supreme agility throughout the final night in Washington, the California cowboy hoped to keep the momentum going when matched up with White Out. His score of 71 points wasn’t as high as he would have liked but was exactly what Williams needed to clinch the win.

For his 3-for-4 weekend and first place finish, Williams netted 133 Velocity Global points and is now sitting at No. 1 in the Velocity standings.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

Shane Scott (Molalla. Oregon) was hot on Williams’ heels in front of his neighboring state crowd at Angel of the Winds Arena coming in at second place.

The 18-year-old cowboy had a less-than-ideal Friday night, bucking off of Lone Ranger and Hell Ya Roscoe

Knowing he had to hit the gas on Saturday, Scott gritted it out aboard Mr. T as the night began, earning a 77-point score to capture fourth place in the round.

He then set sights on the championship round where, to the Washington crowd’s delight, Entitled Little Tool was no match for Scott’s athleticism. With the top score in the final round, a solid 87.5 points, Scott concluded his 2-for-4 weekend.

Scott collected 86 Velocity Global points for his efforts and is currently at No. 64 in the Velocity standings.

Friday night’s leading man, Guthrie Long (Pecos, Texas) finished the weekend in third place after also going 2-for-4.

With a determined look, 37-year-old Long conquered his Round 1 matchup against BG Creek, turning in an 83-point monumental ride to put himself in the No. 1 spot for the opening night in Everett.

Keeping the momentum flowing, the veteran rider launched from the chutes in Saturday’s early round, turning in an 80.5-point score aboard Uncle Nene

Despite being launched by T Rex in the final round after 3.83 seconds, Long earned 73.5 Velocity Global points for his third-place finish on the leaderboard and moved to No. 28 in the Velocity standings.

Idaho man, Ruger Piva (Challis, Idaho) ended up fourth place in Everett on Saturday night.

Despite a bumpy weekend in the first three rounds, Piva pulled through in the end with a momentous ride in the final round for 83.5 points aboard Swagger

For his 1-for-4 weekend in Everett, Piva earned 39 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 at Angel of the Winds Arena was Williams’ fellow California rider, Kyle Eaton (Chico, California).

In Round 1, he launched from the chutes making quick work of Kwik Lock. As excited Washington fans cheered, he made it to the buzzer, scoring 82.5 points, and securing a second-place finish in the round.

From there, despite a valiant effort to stay aboard his following opponents, he couldn’t convert.

Eaton’s first round score helped the 25-year-old leave Everett with 35 Velocity Global points.

The talented bull riders of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will next head to Reno, Nevada, for the PBR Reno at the Reno Events Center Feb. 21-22. In a double-up weekend, the PWVT will also be in Worcester, Massachusetts, for the Beatbox PBR Worcester at DCU Center on Feb. 22-23.
