Starting lineups, draw revealed for PBR Sacramento

Kansas City Outlaws, Missouri Thunder renew rivalry via Monster Energy Team Challenge Jan. 31.

By James Youness

FORT WORTH, Texas –  When Friday night’s Wrangler Long Live Cowboys PBR Sacramento Presented by Cooper Tires gets underway, fans inside Golden 1 Center will witness Brady Fielder conclude introductions by being introduced as the tour’s new No. 1-ranked rider.

Which will represent the first event of the season that No. 2 John Crimber isn’t in the driver’s seat as he continues to heal up from an injury sustained in Houston, Texas.

Seeing Fielder extend his tour-high ride streak to nine-straight via his third-consecutive 3-for-3 performance last weekend in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Australian couldn’t be hotter as he continues to chase down what would be a career-first gold buckle.

And when you consider the 25-year-old captured his first event title of the season two weekends prior by picking up a HUGE win in Chicago, Illinois, he’s very much earned the title of “top-ranked bull rider in the world.”

Who knows how long he’ll enjoy those figurative honors.

But knowing he turned in an insanely efficient 11-for-13 slate within premier series competition throughout the month of January confirms he’ll be bringing a load of confidence and several waves of momentum with him during his Round 1 showdown against Vindicated

Speaking of momentum, there are plenty of guys who have been enjoying the 2025 slate in their own rights, including a guy like No. 14 Leonardo Castro, who’s preparing to dance with In My Blood six days after turning in a fruitful fourth-place effort last weekend inside PPG Paints Arena.

Serving as his third Top 13 placement of the month, the 20-year-old cowboy has been in contention for each of the past three event titles, albeit coming up a few points or a qualified ride short of his ultimate goal.

That said, he was the only man to produce a perfect 4-for-4 effort last season when UTB came through Sac-Town, so he’s worth keeping an eye on during this weekend’s four-round showdown.

No. 5 Cort McFadden, who’s 15-for-26 on the season, could flash once again Friday night as he readies for a rematch dance with Little Tex, whom he bested for a quality 87.25 points this past summer during a PBR Camping World Team Series showcase in Anaheim, California. As one of the youngest and most successful guys on tour this season, he continues to not only refuse a sophomore slump – he’s hunting down a world title as one of the tour’s young guns who remain very capable of winning it all this May inside Jerry World.

No. 4 Dalton Kasel and No. 17 Kaiden Loud are back in the mix – No. 8 Sage Steele Kimzey should be ready to ride. A majority of the tour’s stars are healthy and ready for the Week 11 event.

However, two-time World Champion Jose Vitor Leme announced he’d be missing some time after enduring a recent hand injury, which means the No. 15-ranked rider will be out of competition this week and likely a few in the future.

Veterans in Alan de Souza and 2022 World Champion Daylon Swearingen are joining Leme and company on the doctored out list after suffering respective bumps and bruises last weekend as well, thus paving the way for a few alternates and Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour call-ups to get their shots on the big tour.

So, fans will get a look at familiar faces like Marcus Mast, Caden Bunch, Bob Mitchell and company while seeing some up-and-coming talents like Trace Redd, Grayson Cole, Ethan Winckler and folks get some premier series reps, which could go a long way for their summer series’ outlooks and ambitions.

All while getting a shot at earning some prized UTB points and an opportunity to climb the big board!

2025 PBR Unleash The Beast Standings:
1. Brady Fielder (549 points)
2. John Crimber (477.5 points)
3. Lucas Divino (411.5 points)
4. Dalton Kasel (349 points)
5. Cort McFadden (289.75 points)
6. Luciano De Castro (286 points)
7. Julio Cesar Marques (285.33 points)
8. Sage Steele Kimzey (272.75 points)
9. Keyshawn Whitehorse (272 points)
10. Derek Kolbaba (252 points)

We’ll also remind supporters that the final 12 outs of Friday night’s opening round will feature riders representing the Kansas City Outlaws and Missouri Thunder as the Monster Energy Team Challenge presented by Camping World invites its fifth and final set of rivals to add a hint of spice to Round 1’s electric environment.

Renewing their Show Me State Showdown rivalry, guys like Andrew Alvidrez, Boudreaux Campbell and company will don their red and yellow chaps in 6 vs. 6 fashion as they look to knock off the orange-and-black dressed Outlaws, flanked by cowboys including Koltin Hevalow, Julio Cesar Marques and friends.

These head-to-head showdowns mean more: For the riders, for team owners, for the squad’s respective sponsors, front office circles and beyond. Bragging rights, trophies and that feeling at the end of the night knowing you sent your arch enemies to the loser’s column.

So, be sure to tune into CBS Television Network Sunday at Noon EST as the head-to-head rivalry airs on Championship Sunday, with the rest of the weekend’s action streaming LIVE and FREE on PBR’s YouTube channel, via RidePass on Pluto TV and beyond!
