TULSA, Okla. – In front of a raucous Friday night crowd in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jaxton Mortensen (Chino Valley, Arizona) and Caden Bunch (Tahlequah, Oklahoma) rode supreme, tying for the Round 1 win at the first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event inside BOK Center.

Mortensen and Bunch both delivered unmatched 84.5-point rides to surge to an early event lead at the Walmart Health and Wellness PBR Tulsa. Mortensen bested Renegade (Hale/Vella/Ogden/Hart), while Bunch conquered Black Ops (Lucky Clover Cattle Ranch).

Both chasing their first PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Championship this May, Mortensen and Bunch each earned 23 points toward the 2025 title race.

Mason Ward (North Platte, Nebraska) was third.

Ward rode It’s Cherry (Halpain Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points, netting 17 Velocity Global points.

Fourth was Pokey Houghton (St. George, Utah), who parlayed a 76-point ride on All In (5AR Cattle Co./Allen/Lazy Bucking Bulls) into 8 Velocity Global points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Brandon Chambers (Newport, North Carolina). Chambers earned 7 Velocity Global points for his 64.5-point ride atop Patches (Torres Bucking Bulls/Lucky Clover Cattle Ranch).

PBR’s animal athlete stole the show in Round 1, registering a torrid 85% buckoff rate as they surrendered just six qualified rides in 40 attempts.

Guthrie Long (Pecos, Texas) is the final rider advancing to Round 2 Saturday night with a score. Finishing sixth in Round 1, Long rode T-K T004 (Tom Baker Bucking Bulls) for 60 points, collecting 6 Velocity Global points.

Action for the Walmart Health and Wellness PBR Tulsa will conclude with Round 2 and the championship round on Saturday, Jan. 25. Action gets underway at 7 p.m. CT.
