TULSA, Okla. – In front of a record-setting, sold-out Saturday night crowd inside BOK Center, Oklahoman Caden Bunch (Tahlequah, Oklahoma) dominated, going a perfect 3-for-3 to win the debut PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, victorious at the Walmart Health & Wellness PBR Tulsa.
Bunch set the tone early for his time in front of his home-state crowd. He first tied for the Round 1 win when he topped Black Ops (Lucky Clover Cattle Ranch) for 84.5 points.
The reserved Sooner State rider then overtook sole ownership of the event lead when he outlasted Virg (Cross 33 Cattle/Daylon Swearingen) for 83.5 points in Round 2.
Bunch then punctuated his event win with the top score of the championship round, conquering Bandito (Sho-Me Rodeo/Wyloh) for 83 points.
The golden finish garnered Bunch a crucial 148 points in the race for the 2025 Velocity Tour Championship.
Jaxton Mortensen (Chino Valley, Arizona) parlayed a 2-for-3 showing into a second-place finish and 80.5 Velocity Global points.
After riding Renegade (Hale/Vella/Ogden/Hart) for 84.5 points in Round 1, Mortensen remained perfect as Championship Saturday got underway, topping Shakira (Folsom Point Bucking Bull) for 81.5 points in Round 2.
Mortensen’s hopes of victory, however, were cut short when he was upended by Dirty Hairy Deeds (Campbell Cattle Co./Cannon Cattle Co.) in a quick 1.58 seconds in the championship round.
Third was Guthrie Long (Pecos, Texas).
Long’s bronze showing, which earned him 56 Velocity Global points, was earned courtesy of a 60-point ride on T-K T004 (Tom Baker Bucking Bulls) and an 80.5-point effort atop TBR’s Rumple Minze (TBR/JX Bucking Bulls).
Courtesy of a Round 2-winning, 85-point ride on Cutting Edges Bandit (Cross 33 Cattle/Daylon Swearingen), Andrei Scoparo (Assis Chateaubriand, Brazil) was fourth. He earned 49 Velocity Global points.
Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Tyce Willis (Alvord, Texas). Willis’s efforts inside BOK Center were headlined by an 84-point ride on Moody Hou (Sappington Bucking Stock/Rafter G Rodeo), which garnered him 35 Velocity Global points.
In the bull pen, Magic Money (D&H Cattle Co./Buck Cattle Co.) bucked a cut above the rest, crowned the Bull of the Event. The powerful animal athlete was marked an unmatched 45.5 points in Round 1 for his 6.06 seconds of work against Ednelio Almeida (Cacoal, Brazil).
The first round of the first-ever Velocity Tour event in Tulsa also included an ABBI (American Bucking Bull Inc.) Classic competition featuring 39 of the sport’s up-and-coming 4-year-old bovine athletes competing for their share of $31,000 in prize money. Yahoo (Buck/D&H Cattle) bucked supreme, winning the ABBI Tulsa Classic event title courtesy of an unrivaled 90.4-point score earned for bucking off Brandon Chambers (Newport, North Carolina) in 2.44 seconds.
