ANAHEIM, Calif. – When the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series storms back into California, for PBR Teams: Anaheim Days, September 5-7 at Honda Center, fans will experience bull riding in a new way – in head-to-head, five-on-five games among the growing league’s 10 teams.
While the rules are the same – stay on a remarkable 1,800-pound bull born to buck for 8 seconds – the overmatched riders on the short end of the unpredictable, dirt-flinging David vs. Goliath matchups are now competing for a band of brothers on a team instead of seeking individual glory.
PBR’s return to Anaheim comes on the heels of a triumphant 2024 for the Teams league. Overall event attendance for the 2024 PBR Teams season increased 15% compared to 2023, and several CBS Game of the Week broadcasts drew more than 2 million average viewers. The on-the-dirt product has never been better, demonstrated in the increase in riding percentages to 40.38% across the league (about 10 percent higher than individual competition) and a recent November 2024 sold-out crowd for the individual Unleash The Beast series in neighboring Ontario, California.
PBR Teams builds on the existing structure of professional bull riding with the same basic rules for judging and scoring qualified 8-second bull rides. Events are structured in a tournament-style format with all teams competing in head-to-head matchups against a different opponent each day.
In each game, five riders on a team square off against another team. Full team rosters are comprised of up to seven riders on the Protected Roster and up to five Reserve Roster members. The team with the highest aggregate score of qualified rides among its riders is declared the winner of each game.
The five-on-five bull riding games inside the home of the Anaheim Ducks will be intense as 10 Teams race towards the coveted 2025 Team Championship title in the league’s fourth season. Playoff seedings and two first-round byes will be at stake at PBR Teams: Anaheim Days, the seventh event of the 12-event 2025 regular season prior to the Championship in Las Vegas.
Ticket prices for the family-friendly, three-day event start at $29 and are available at Ticketmaster.com, Honda Center Box Office, PBR.com, or by phone at (800)732-1727.
PBR Teams launched in 2022 with eight founding teams, including the Arizona Ridge Riders of Glendale, Arizona; Austin Gamblers of Austin, Texas; Carolina Cowboys of Greensboro, North Carolina; Florida Freedom of Sunrise, Florida; Kansas City Outlaws of Kansas City, Missouri; Missouri Thunder of Ridgedale, Missouri; Nashville Stampede of Nashville, Tennessee; and Texas Rattlers of Fort Worth, Texas. Now in its fourth season the league expanded last year to add the Oklahoma Wildcatters and the New York Mavericks.
While each team hosts a homestand, the league also holds two neutral site events. Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia will welcome the league for the first neutral site event, followed by Anaheim in September.
The weekend of nonstop action will see the top bull riders and rankest bulls in the sport take to the dirt at 7:45 p.m. PST on Friday, Sept. 5 and then again at 6:45 p.m. PST on Saturday, Sept. 6 and for the final time on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1:45 PST for the event’s conclusion.
Three-day ticket packages are available, offering fans a 20% discount on select price levels.
