EMPIRE STATE OF MIND: This weekend, the PBR’s elite Unleash The Beast heads to Albany, New York, for the sixth event of the 24-event 2025 individual season, marking the fourth time in history, and the third consecutive season, the premier series has traveled to Albany. New York’s capital will host the PBR for two days of action on Friday, December 27, at 7:45 p.m. ET, and Saturday, December 28, at 7:45 p.m. ET.
FLAWLESS KOLBABA WINS IN MANCHESTER: No. 4 Derek Kolbaba went a perfect 3-for-3 to take home his first premier series event buckle since 2017 in Manchester, New Hampshire, last weekend. The Washingtonian began his weekend by riding Chupacabra for 87.5 points in Round 1. Tied for fourth heading into the final two rounds of competition, the veteran catapulted into the event lead by covering First Class for 87.5 points to win Round 2. Now with the pick of the pen, Kolbaba chose Feeds Red River as his final animal athlete opponent and made the 8 once again, earning the walk-off win by posting 90 points. In addition to being his first win on the top tour since he took home the buckle in San Jose, California, in 2017, Kolbaba skyrocketed up the Unleash The Beast standings from No. 33 to No. 4, securing his spot on the premier series after being on the verge of getting cut. Kolbaba looks to continue his climb up the standings on Cash Goblin in Round 1 this weekend.
CRIMBER MAINTAINS NO. 1 RANKING: Despite going 0-for-2 last weekend in Manchester, New Hampshire, No. 1 John Crimber maintained his hold on the top spot in the Unleash The Beast standings. Prior to Manchester, Crimber went 1-for-3 and finished ninth in Wichita, Kansas, recording his tour-best fourth 90-point ride of the season. After bucking off Sometimes I Fly in 5.82 seconds in Round 1, the 19-year-old rebounded in the second round, thundering out of the chutes for 90 points on Good Riddance. Looking to climb to the top of the leaderboard for his third event win of the season, Crimber shot out of the gate on Man Hater in the championship round. However, the 2024 PBR YETI World Champion Bull proved too much for his cowboy counterpart, besting Crimber after 4.76 seconds. Looking to bounce back after being shutout last weekend, Crimber faces off with Umm in Round 1 on Friday.
