Junior Patrik Souza finishes second, Mauricio Gulla Moreira captures third.

FORT WORTH, Texas – At the 83rd iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) went 1-for-2 to win the event.

Cole won the opening round with an event-high 89 points on Baller (Mike Johnson).

Looking to extend his lead, the Pennsylvanian roared out of the gates on The Paint (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) but couldn’t convert, bucking off the powerful bovine competitor in 3.22 seconds.

The event win netted Cole a critical 46 Velocity Global points.

In second place was Junior Patrik Souza (Sonora, Brazil).

Souza was right on Cole’s spurs after the opening round, riding Stryker (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) for 88 points.

However, he, too, was no match for his animal athlete opponent in the final round, as Boujee Boy (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) overwhelmed the Brazilian after just 2.26 seconds.

The silver finish garnered Souza a crucial 33 Velocity Global points.

The final spot on the podium belonged to Mauricio Gulla Moreira (Gaviao Peixoto, Brazil).

After topping Trigger (Benton Gonzales) for 85.5 points in Round 1, Moreira was bucked off by Hard Candy (Braun Bucking Bulls) in a brief 1.86 seconds in Round 2.

The third-place finish earned Moreira 22 Velocity Global points.

Dakota Warnken (Wakarusa, Indiana) and Luke Parkinson (Denman, New South Wales, Australia) tied for fifth.

Warnken topped Flying Bad (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) for 85 points in the opening round and was unable to go in Round 2.

Parkinson made the 8 atop Twisted (Benton Gonzales) for 85 points of his own in Round 1 before bucking off Problem Child (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) in 2.98 seconds in the final round.

Both riders left Cowtown Coliseum with 16.5 Velocity Global points.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

The aforementioned The Paint was marked 44.5 points for his buckoff of Cole in Round 2 to take home the Bull of the Event title.

The PBR Stockyards Showcase returns on Thursday, December 19. Action inside Cowtown Coliseum will get underway at 7:30 p.m. CT.
