WORCESTER, Ma. – For the ninth time in the sport’s history, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into Worcester, Massachusetts, returning to DCU Center on Feb. 22-23, 2025 with BeatBox PBR Worcester.

BeatBox PBR Worcester will be met with added significance as the PBR’s lone event in Massachusetts during the 2025 individual season.

For two days only, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting and unpredictable live sporting events to witness.

PBR’s return to Worcester comes on the spurs of one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2024 as the Velocity Tour held 30 regular-season events across four months, including 12 weekends with two events held simultaneously. Welcoming more than 356,000 fans throughout the season, the Velocity Tour hosted 20 sold out event days, marking its most successful season in attendance since its inception in 2015.

The upcoming PBR Worcester will be the 16th event of the new individual season for the PBR’s expansion series. Eventgoers will watch on as riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2025 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.

When PBR’s Velocity Tour was last in Worcester in February 2024, Joao Paulo Fernandes (Hidrolina, Brazil) rode a cut above the rest winning the event inside DCU Center. Fernandes’ victory was headlined by an 85-point ride on Matthew (C-B Bucking Bulls) in Round 1.

As the 2024 campaign rode on, Fernandes capped the season with a 15^th-place finish at the Velocity Tour Finals, concluding the season No. 44 in the Velocity Tour Championship race. When the dust settled, however, it was 2024 PBR Worcester runner-up Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) who was crowned the 2024 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion, earning the accompanying $50,000 bonus.

Other past Worcester event winners include: Brandon McDowell (2023, Hopwood, Pennsylvania), Casey Coulter (2022, Kirksville, Missouri); Tye Chandler (2020; Celina, Texas); Daniel Tinsman (2019; Farmland Indiana), Juan Carlos Contreras (2018; Huichapan, Mexico), Emilio Resende (2017; Santa Helena, Brazil), Winston Lopez (2016; Bandera, Texas), and Austin Meier (2015; Kinta, Oklahoma).

The bull riding action for BeatBox PBR Worcester begins with Round 1 at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 22, followed by Round 2 and the championship round at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 23. All 35 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1 on Feb. 22 and Round on Feb. 23. The riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled with the Top 10 advancing to the championship round on Sunday afternoon for one more out and a chance at the event title.
