READING, Pa. – For the third time in the sport’s history, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will buck into Reading, Pennsylvania, returning to Santander Arena on Feb. 7-8, 2025 with PBR Reading. The event will mark the lone tour stop for the Velocity Tour in Pennsylvania in 2025.
For two nights only, some of the best bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in one of the most exciting and unpredictable live sporting events to witness.
PBR’s return to Reading comes on the spurs of one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2024 as the Velocity Tour held 30 regular-season events across four months, including 12 weekends with two events held simultaneously. Welcoming more than 356,000 fans throughout the season, the Velocity Tour hosted 20 sold out event days, marking its most successful season in attendance since its inception in 2015.
The upcoming PBR Reading will be the 12th event of the new individual season for the PBR’s expansion series. Eventgoers will watch on as riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2025 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.
When PBR’s Velocity Tour was last in Reading in February 2024, veteran Michael Lane (Tazewell, Virginia) went 2-for-3 to win the event inside Santander arena. For Lane, the winningest rider on the Velocity Tour, the victory marked the ninth of his career on the expansion series.
Lane’s victory was headlined by an 85.5-point ride on Coolio (C-B Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and 85-point effort aboard Game Day (C-B Bucking Bulls) in Round 2.
As the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour season continued, Lane logged an additional Top 5-finish before finishing No. 20 in the title battle. When the dust settled, however, it was 2023 PBR Reading event winner and Pennsylvania’s own Grayson Cole (New Ringgold, Pennsylvania) who was crowned the 2024 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion, earning the accompanying $50,000 bonus.
The bull riding action for PBR Reading begins with Round 1 at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 7, followed by Round 2 and the championship round at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 8. All 35 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1 on Feb. 7 and Round 2 on Feb. 8. The riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled with the Top 10 advancing to the championship round Saturday evening for one more out and a chance at the event title.
