BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – When the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) returns to Bakersfield in 2025 for the seventh event of the 2024 season, California fans will be on the edge of their seats as the world’s top bull riders and the sport’s most talented animal athletes compete at the PBR: Bakersfield on Saturday, Jan. 18.

In Jan. 2024, when the PBR last visited Bakersfield, Keyshawn Whitehorse, who rides for the Arizona Ridge Riders in the separate PBR Teams series, was unstoppable, securing his first PWVT event win of the year.

In Round 1, the 26-year-old Arizona Ridge Riders athlete, was paired with Willie (Naccarato Bucking Bulls), firing out of the chutes for an impressive 84.5 points, finishing in second place for his efforts. As the amazing animal athletes of the PBR showcased their supreme agility throughout the final round, the Utah cowboy was the only man to go 2-for-2 after matching up with Scarface (Evan Matthews) for an extraordinary 84 points in the championship round.

Riders just like Whitehorse from around the world will attempt to win at the 2025 event in hopes of climbing the world standings. All 40 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Saturday’s opening Round 1, followed by the Top 10 advancing to the championship round for one more out and a chance at the event title.

PBR’s return to Bakersfield follows one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2024 as the Velocity Tour held 30 regular-season events across four months, including 12 weekends with two events held simultaneously. Welcoming more than 348,000 fans throughout the season, the Velocity Tour hosted 18 sold-out event days, marking its most successful season in attendance since its inception in 2015.

The top talent of the series will take to the dirt at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18. Tickets range in price from $25 to $115 and can be purchased at AXS.com, the Mechanics Bank Arena box office, PBR.com or by phone on (800)732-1727.

PBR Elite Seats are available for avid fans who want an exclusive VIP experience while enjoying the world’s top bull riding circuit. These tickets, available in three tiers, offer premium seats, personal on-site concierge at the PBR fan loyalty booth, and more.
