GLENDALE, Ariz. – As the top two teams of the PBR Camping World Team Series went head-to-head in the regular-season finale on Sunday in Glendale, Arizona, the Kansas City Outlaws parlayed three qualified rides into a shut-out win over the Carolina Cowboys, 264.50 – 0, moving from second to first to win the 2024 PBR Teams Regular-Season Championship.
The Outlaws, fueled by scores by Sandro Batista (88), Maikon Calixto Rocha (87.75) and Cassio Dias (88.75), waited until the final day of the regular season to finally unseat the Cowboys as the No. 1 team in the league, finishing 19-9 to the Cowboys’ 18-9-1.
“This is what sports is about and bull riding’s about,” said Kansas City Head Coach J.W. Hart. “Just the perseverance that these guys have been through, the nagging injuries that nobody knows about but maybe me and (assistant coach) Guilherme (Marchi) and the guys. It ain’t over, though. We still have a long path to forge in Vegas. We’ll try to keep focused.”
With the New York Mavericks sitting at No. 9 in the standings heading into Sunday, locked into the wild card Ride-In Round at South Point Arena on Oct. 17, and the No. 4 Texas Rattlers qualified for Championship Weekend, all eyes during Sunday’s first matchup were on leadoff man Brady Fielder, trailing the Florida Freedom’s John Crimber by 147.25 points and in need a qualified ride to stay in the MVP race.
For the second time at Ridge Rider Days, Fielder was bucked off less than a second from the whistle, this time thrashed by Almost Sober at 7.60 seconds, making Crimber the first rider not named Jose Vitor Leme to become the league’s MVP.
“If it wasn’t for this team, I don’t think I’d be where I’m at today in this MVP race,” Crimber said. “They go out there and do their jobs and they gave me the opportunity. I just have to give all the glory to God, who gave me this talent.”
Crimber said he’ll use the $100,000 MVP winnings to buy bucking bulls.
“I’ve been buying bulls to get some tax write-off, ‘cause I guess I gotta do taxes now,” the 19-year-old superstar said on Merit Street when the accomplishment was announced.
Fielder finished the season 24-for-34 with the league’s highest ride percentage (71%), beating Crimber (67%) for the Great 8 Award, earning $25,000. Even with Fielder bucking off, three other Rattlers tallied scores, including Daniel Keeping’s 12th qualified ride in his last 13 outs, to beat the New York Mavericks 256.5 - 173.5.
The Arizona Ridge Riders closed out the regular season dominating their home event, riding four of their five bulls on Sunday in downing the Missouri Thunder 348.0 – 87.25 to go 3-0 in Desert Diamond Arena. Arizona’s Nick Tetz, Eduardo Aparecido, Bruno Carvalho and Colten Fritzlan each notched a score.
While the Ridge Riders head to the Ride-In Round at No. 9 (11-17 on the season), they finished the 12-event regular season No. 5 in aggregate points, ahead of the Austin Gamblers and Missouri Thunder. In a league where wins and losses matter most, the Ridge Riders have heated up when it counts most, waiting for the last day to tally their highest-scoring game of the season and complete a homestand sweep.
For good measure, the Ridge Riders’ Keyshawn Whitehorse ended his team’s perfect homestand by riding Firewater for 90.25 points and a Shootout Round win. Whitehorse, who walked it off last night, beating the Oklahoma Wildcatters, walked off the shootout as well, finishing the season second in average ride score (87.73), trailing only Brady Fielder (87.83).
Earlier, taking on the No. 3 Florida Freedom, the No. 8 Nashville Stampede had a remote mathematical chance of joining their opponents in the Top 6 to lock into Championship Weekend, but leadoff man Silvano Alves’s score of 85.5 points all but eliminated the Stampede from making it into the Top 6. (The team’s four remaining riders would need to register the four highest scores in PBR history). Alves’s ride was No. 526 of his career, moving him ahead of Chris Shivers to third-best in PBR history.
With Nashville down a bull in the bottom of the fifth, superstar closer Kaiden Loud mounted I’m Legit Too, needing 87.25 points for the win. Loud was sensational with 88 points, his third walk-off win of the season, upsetting the Freedom 173.5 - 172.5.
The Stampede broke a four-game losing streak to finish the season (12-16), heading into the wild card Ride-In Round with strong momentum. Florida will enter Championship Weekend in T-Mobile Arena with a 16-12 record.
The 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series playoffs begin on Oct. 17 at South Point Arena with the wild card Ride-In Round, featuring the Nashville Stampede, Oklahoma Wildcatters, Arizona Ridge Riders, and New York Mavericks. Two teams will advance to Championship Weekend at T-Mobile Arena (Oct. 18-20).
Tickets for the Ride-In-Round at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com, while tickets for the three-day event at T-Mobile Arena to determine the season champions can be found on axs.com.

With a chance to close out the game for Florida, freshly crowned 2024 PBR Teams MVP John Crimber took on Joy’s Bang Bang. The 19-year-old bull-riding phenom stormed out of the chutes but was flung off his animal opponent’s back after 3.44 seconds. Nashville Head Coach Justin McBride turned to Kaiden Loud to try and ride I’m Legit Too, and the 19-year-old Texan came through in the clutch to walk off the Florida Freedom with an 88-point ride. It was Loud’s third walk-off ride this season.

Rookie Maikon Calixton Rocha then poured the pressure on for the Outlaws, riding Lansky for 87.75 points.
2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen was now in a must-ride situation on The Don, but the bull fouled him leaving the chutes to earn Carolina a re-ride after a brief review.
