PBR’s return to Memphis comes on the spurs of one of the organization’s most dynamic individual seasons in 2024 as the Velocity Tour held 30 regular-season events across four months, including 12 weekends with two events held simultaneously. Welcoming more than 356,000 fans throughout the season, the Velocity Tour hosted 20 sold out event days, marking its most successful season in attendance since its inception in 2015.
The upcoming PBR Memphis will be the 15th event of the new individual season for the PBR’s expansion series. Eventgoers will watch on as riders vie for crucial points in the race to be crowned the 2025 PBR Velocity Tour Champion.
When PBR’s Velocity Tour most recently stormed into Memphis in February 2024, Dener Barbosa (Paulo de Faria, Brazil) rode lights out inside the home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the event.
Barbosa rode Cold Front (Barrett/D4) for 84.5 points in Round 1, before clinching the victory with an event-best 86.5-point effort on Johnny Rocket (Richardson Land & Cattle Co. 2) in the championship round. With the golden finish Barbosa earned 123.5 points in the race for the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour Championship.
As the season progressed, Barbosa logged an additional event win, along with three accompanying Top 10 finishes before concluding the campaign No. 3 in the title battle.
The bull riding action for PBR Memphis begins at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, February 15. All competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1. The Top 12 will advance to the championship round later that evening for one more out and a chance at the event title.
