GREENSBORO, N.C. – On the final afternoon of their third-annual PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series homestand in North Carolina, the league No. 1 Carolina Cowboys were again stunned at home, suffering their second consecutive loss for the first time in 2024 as they were upset by the Missouri Thunder, 260.75-173.25.
The competing riders at PBR Cowboy Days also etched their name in the league record books. After they covered a record 62 bulls last week in Anaheim, California, the riders re-wrote that record Sunday afternoon inside Greensboro Coliseum, covering 65 of the PBR’s best bovine athletes as they logged a torrid 49.24% riding average.
While Carolina posted scores from Daylon Swearingen and Dawson Branton, it was not enough to overcome Missouri's 3-for-5 effort, as Paulo Eduardo Rossetto, Boudreaux Campbell, and Felipe Furlan carried the Thunder to victory.
Missouri is now the lone team to have beaten the Carolina Cowboys multiple times this season, with the series record now 2-1. The No. 7 Thunder return to the Show Me State having gone 1-2 at PBR Cowboy Days, now 10-14 this season.

The win, marked by a 4-for-5 showing, not only improved Florida to a perfect 3-0 against Oklahoma this season, but it was also their sixth straight game in which they recorded three or more qualified rides.
The Freedom’s victory was earned courtesy of scores from Alex Cerqueira, Yan Victor Cunha, Joao Lucas Campos and John Crimber.
For John Crimber, his game-best 89.5-point ride on Chupacabra was his 50th career 8-second effort in premier PBR competition. The score also allowed Crimber to extend his lead in the race for the 2024 PBR Teams MVP title, improving to a then-152 points ahead of No. 2 Brady Fielder.
No. 3 Florida concluded its time in North Carolina with a perfect 3-0 record, improving to 14-9 this season. Oklahoma finished 1-1 at PBR Cowboy Days, now 9-14-1 across 2024. The efforts in the Tar Heel State led Oklahoma to rise one position in the league standings from No. 9 to No. 8.
The tenacious spirit of the J.W. Hart and Guilherme Marchi-led Kansas City Outlaws was on full display Sunday afternoon in North Carolina, as the league No. 2 squad delivered a strong, late-game surge to earn a come-from-behind win against the Arizona Ridge Riders by 87.5 points, 260.75-173.25. For Arizona, of their now 16 losses this season, 14 have been suffered by one ride score or less.
After PBR’s animal athletes headlined the game’s opening two frames, the tone of the game shifted in the third. But Kansas City quickly responded. In their subsequent two outs, they overtook the lead by 1 point, 174.25-173.25 as Julio Cesar Marques rodeo Peanut for 86.25 points and Maikon Calixto Rocha bested Don’t Come Easy for 88 points.
As a result, Arizona faced a must-ride position in the top of the fifth. In the high-pressure out was Dener Barbosa aboard Roc Wit It. Bursting from the chutes inside Greensboro Coliseum, Barbosa quickly got out of time with the bull, hitting the ground in 3.86 seconds to cement the win for Kansas City.
The Outlaws then punctuated their victory with an 86.5-point ride from their closer and reigning PBR World Champion Cassio Dias on Air Shift.
With the victory, Kansas City improved to a perfect 3-0 against Arizona this season. The Outlaws concluded PBR Cowboy Days 1-1 and are now 16-7 this season, remaining No. 2 in PBR Teams. The Ridge Riders were shut out in the Tar Heel State, going 0-3 and slipping to 7-16 this season, still No. 10 in the league.
The Austin Gamblers improved to 2-1 against the New York Mavericks in 2024, defeating the Kody Lostroh-led contingent by one ride score and 90.25 points, 176.25-86 Sunday afternoon.
Austin’s win was backed by scores from World Champions Kaique Pacheco and Jose Vitor Leme, which proved too much to overcome for New York, whose lone score was registered by team newcomer Mason Taylor.

PBR’s bull power was on full display in the game’s opening frame. Nick Tetz was quickly throttled to the ground by Cockeye in 1.67 seconds for Arizona, while Sandro Batista was tossed in 4.74 seconds by Soul Train for Kansas City.
As the second frame got underway, Arizona looked to Eduardo Aparecido atop Great Balls of Fire to give the Colby Yates-led outfit their first qualified ride. However, after difficulty in the chutes, Aparecido and Arizona were awarded a re-ride. Kansas City was hopeful that Koltin Hevalow could put the Outlaws on the board first in the bottom of the second, but Shark Bait had other plans, whipping the Missouri native to the ground after 6.17 seconds.
Arizona then shifted the tone of the game in the third. Bruno Carvalho first bested Cooter Brown to give the Ridge Riders an 86.5-point lead. With the pending Ridge Rider re-ride, the buck order shifted, with Keyshawn Whitehorse next taking on Bucking Bull. In what proved to be a perfect pairing, Whitehorse delivered his squad’s second consecutive qualified ride, marked 86.75 points to increase Arizona’s lead to 173.25.

Following Pollmeier’s out, Wildcatters Head Coach J.B. Mauney challenged the buckoff on time, but after close review, Pollmeier was still deemed to have bucked off before the 8. The no-score remained in place and Oklahoma lost its ability to challenge for the remainder of the game.
In the top of the third, Florida grew its lead to two ride scores and 173 points as Yan Victor Cunha dominated Hay Ring for 88 points. Oklahoma continued to stumble in the bottom of the frame. Eduardo Matos logged the team’s third consecutive buckoff after being whipped to the ground in 3.11 seconds by Pneu-Dart’s Chief Wahoo.

After careful preparation on Silvertown, Joao Lucas Campos called for the gate. Remaining in perfect time with the powerful animal athlete, Campos made the whistle as the crowd erupted in cheer. Austin Gamblers Edge New York Mavericks by One Ride Score on Final Afternoon of PBR Teams Competition at Greensboro Coliseum
Austin Gamblers: 176.25New York Mavericks: 86
The Austin Gamblers broke through on Sunday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina, edging the New York Mavericks by one ride score, 176.25-86, concluding their time in the Tar Heel State with a much-needed win.
The Gamblers took control of the game in the top of the first. Austin jumped to a quick 88.25-point lead courtesy of an early qualified ride from opener and 2018 PBR World Champion Kaique Pacheco on Wild Card. New York appeared poised to respond in the bottom of the frame, but Leonardo Castro was unseated in a close 7.29 seconds by Rafter P Construction’s Smooth Over It.
PBR’s animal athletes then headlined the second frame, dealing buckoffs to both Austin’s Rafael dos Santos and New York’s Leandro Machado.
In the top of the third, Austin looked to Australian Callum Miller to right its momentum, but he couldn’t get past Magic Potion, hitting the ground in 4.59 seconds, resulting in no score for the Gamblers. New York then broke through in the bottom of the frame. Mason Taylor bested That Thang for 86 points, inching the Mavericks within 2.25 points of the lead entering the fourth.
Austin and New York were again stumped by PBR’s renowned animal athletes as Ramon de Lima failed to cover for the Gamblers and Marco Rizzo was unsuccessful in his Teams debut for New York.
As a result, both teams faced a high-pressure fifth. Austin first took to the chutes as its closer and two-time PBR Teams MVP Jose Vitor Leme settled in on Chacho. Bursting from the chutes, Leme began to celebrate a qualified ride, but the clock had stopped just past 6 seconds for an apparent slap. Upon review, PBR’s officials did not see a slap and Leme earned an 88-point score. The score put the pressure on New York, now trailing by 90.25 points prior to their fifth man Mauricio Moreira’s out with UTZ BesTex Legend. Moreira, however, earned a re-ride for New York after UTZ BesTex Legend fouled himself during the out.
New York then called up Ederson Santos to take on Slingin’ It. Erupting from the chutes, Santos proved no match for the powerful animal athlete, quickly slung to the ground in 1.52 seconds.
At the game’s end, Austin won by 90.25 points, 176.25-86, improving to 2-1 against the New York Mavericks in 2024. Missouri began the game with a bang. In the top of the first, Paulo Eduardo Rossetto delivered a commanding ride on Chuck, propelling the Thunder to a quick 88.5-point lead. The Thunder again bucked off in the top of the fourth, opening the door for Carolina, following Andrew Alvidrez’s 3.48-second trip with Bangarang. The Cowboys finally broke through in the bottom of the fourth. The Jerome Davis and Robson Palermo-led outfit climbed within 85.75 points of the lead courtesy of a much-needed 86.5-point ride from 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen on Unhinged.
As a result of the re-ride earned earlier in the game, Carolina closer and seven-time PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) World Champion Sage Kimzey next took to the chutes. Nodding with confidence atop Air Marshall, Kimzey was unseated at the 5.24-second mark, giving Missouri the chance to cement the game win in the next out.
In the possibly victory-clinching moment was Felipe Furlan on Wicked In a Winning Way. Furlan exploded from the chutes, remaining in perfect time with the powerful animal athlete and reaching the requisite 8 as the Thunder bench began to celebrate. Cowboys Head Coach Davis, however, challenged the call on time. Upon review, PBR’s officials upheld the call made in the arena, marking Furlan 85.5 points and cementing the upset win for Missouri against the Carolina Cowboys.
While their fate had been decided, Carolina concluded their time on home dirt with a qualified ride. Branton bested re-ride bull Peterbilt for 87.5 points.
