By Andrew Hatfield

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After the dust settled on the second day of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams: Outlaw Days, the Kansas City Outlaws (13-5) trounced the Austin Gamblers (9-9), 264.5-88.

Back in his usual leadoff spot, Sandro Batista converted for the eighth-consecutive out on Ugly This for a monstrous 90.25 points to give the hometown Outlaws a lead they would never relinquish. The Brazilian also briefly took the No. 1 spot in the 2024 PBR Teams MVP standings before Austin’s Jose Vitor Leme seized it right back in the top of the fifth, covering Tijuana Two-Step for 88 points.

Kansas City attempts to sweep their homestand against the Missouri Thunder (7-11) in the final Show Me State showdown matchup of the 2024 regular season on Sunday, while Austin takes the day off.

While the league-leading Carolina Cowboys (14-2-1) defeated the Arizona Ridge Riders (7-11), 175-87, in the second game of the night, it was Man Hater who stole the show.

With Carolina up two rides to one behind stellar performances from Cooper Davis and Daylon Swearingen, the Jane Clark/Gene Owen-owned bull made PBR history by posting the highest bull score in PBR history, marked 49.5 points for his 2.41-second buck off of Sage Steele Kimzey.

“That I haven’t even soaked in yet,” said one of Man Hater’s owners, Gene Owen. “When Kate [Harrison] asked me some questions right behind the deal, I was just speechless almost. It hadn’t soaked in. 20 years from now, it still may be the highest. Maybe not, but they’ll have a hard time beating it. And he’s not hardly done, so he may beat it himself.”

Carolina tries to move to a perfect 3-0 in Kansas City against the Texas Rattlers (8-9) on Sunday afternoon, while Arizona has the day off.

In the night's first game, the Oklahoma Wildcatters (7-10-1) defeated the Nashville Stampede (7-11), 177.5-176.

In the bottom of the second, Cort McFadden posted the first 90-point ride of the weekend, covering Ricky Vaughn for exactly 90 points to give the Wildcatters a lead heading into the third. Despite an 88-point ride by Alan de Souza to start the frame, Nashville couldn’t mount a comeback, dropping their sixth straight.

Oklahoma tries to win their second game of the weekend on Sunday against the Florida Freedom (8-9) while Nashville attempts to end their losing streak against the New York Mavericks (7-10).

In the third game Saturday night, the Texas Rattlers overwhelmed the Florida Freedom, 352-176.25.

Daniel Keeping got the scoring started for the Rattlers on Barbarosa for 88 points before Brady Fielder matched his teammate in the very next out for 88 points of his own on Whiplash. With the game already decided, Florida’s John Crimber seized the No. 1 spot in the MVP standings by riding Hoka Hey for 87.5 points before Batista overtook him in the final game of the evening.

Florida looks for their first win of the weekend against the Wildcatters on Sunday, while the Rattlers take on the No. 1 Carolina Cowboys.

To close out the second night of Outlaw Days, the four winning teams each sent a rider to the Shootout Round where Kansas City once again rode supreme, as Cassio Dias converted aboard Tulsa Time for 90.25 points to win the special round.

PBR Outlaw Days concludes on Sunday, September 8, at 1:45 p.m. CT. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com and PBR.com, T-Mobile Center Box Office, or by calling PBR customer service at 1-800-732-1727.

Game Recaps –

See below for individual game recaps of the first night of PBR Teams: Outlaw Days in Kansas City, Missouri.

Oklahoma Wildcatters Defeat Nashville Stampede in Opening Game Saturday Night Behind McFadden’s Monstrous Ride

Nashville Stampede: 176 Oklahoma Wildcatters: 177.50

As the second day of bull riding got underway for PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams: Outlaw Days in Kansas City, Missouri, the Oklahoma Wildcatters (7-10-1) defeated the Nashville Stampede (7-11). Cody Jesus shared a chute with Wingman in the opening out on Saturday, but the powerful bovine competitor repeated his performance against Jesus in Springfield, Missouri, last weekend, bucking off the Nashville leadoff rider in 6.77 seconds. Eduardo Matos had no such issue with Wishful Thinking for the Wildcatters, getting the team out to an early 87.5-point lead.

The Stampede turned to Anderson de Oliveira for a response, and he converted for the first time in his PBR Teams’ career, covering Mama’s Boy for 88 points to give Nashville a slim lead. Ricky Vaughn and Oklahoma’s Cort McFadden paired up next and danced in perfect unison, with the Texan posting the first 90-point ride of the weekend for exactly 90 points. It was McFadden’s first career 90-point ride and the second-straight ride scored 90+ on the elite animal athlete from WinRock/D&H Cattle/Buck Cattle.

Alan de Souza looked to match McFadden in the top of the third on Hunting Trip, giving the nod with just three seconds left on the chute clock. The veteran made it look easy, bringing the Stampede within two points by scoring 88 points. In the bottom of the third, Austin Richardson attempted to give the Wildcatters some breathing room, but Ridin’ Salty broke the four-out ride streak, bucking off the Dallasite in 4.90 seconds.

Now with an opening to take the lead, 19-year-old Kaiden Loud roared out of the chutes on Whiskey Business. The powerful bovine competitor quickly gained the upper hand, flinging off Loud in 2.67 seconds to move to a perfect 9-0 in his career. In the bottom of the fourth, Colton Byram made his PBR Teams debut on Wooderson but couldn’t convert and was unseated after 2.29 seconds. Now in a must-ride situation, Nashville closer and three-time PBR World Champion Silvano Alves roared out of the gate on Don’t Come Easy in search of ride No. 523 but couldn’t hang on after 6.12 seconds.

With the game already in hand Hayden Harris took advantage of a re-ride opportunity on Blue Suede Shoes, but he flipped off the bull after 3.97 seconds to end the game. Oklahoma tries to win their second game of the weekend against the Florida Freedom (8-9) while Nashville attempts to end their six-game losing streak against the New York Mavericks (7-10).

Carolina Cowboys Hang on to Defeat Arizona Ridge Riders in Second Game of PBR Teams: Outlaw Days Saturday Night

Carolina Cowboys: 175 Arizona Ridge Riders: 87

As the action heated up during the second game of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders), the Carolina Cowboys (14-2-1) maintained their spot atop the standings by defeating the Arizona Ridge Riders (7-11), 175-87. The game began with Carolina’s Cooper Davis taking on Hay Ring and making the 8 for 86.5 points. Arizona’s JaCauy Hale roared out of the chutes on Powerstroke to try and extend his ride streak to five and match Davis but he was bucked off after 3.00 seconds.

To start the second, the Cowboys’ Derek Kolbaba now had a chance to pour the pressure on the Ridge Riders, but the Washingtonian couldn’t convert, bucking off Norse God after 4.35 seconds. Now finding themselves down with three frames to go, Carolina turned to Dawson Branton. The Oregonian cowboy rocketed out of the chutes aboard Uncle Jim and initially looked like he had made the 8, but Arizona challenged, and the ride was overturned as Branton lost the rope after a heartbreaking 7.80 seconds.

Bruno Carvalho couldn’t capitalize for the Ridge Riders in the bottom of the frame, bucking off Big Bank in 2.13 seconds. 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen was next to leave the chutes for the Cowboys, and he sat tall atop Whip for 88.5 points to take the lead back for Carolina with three outs remaining. Luciano De Castro attempted to respond, but he saw his four-out ride streak come to an end on Bangarang after 4.62 seconds. Sage Kimzey now had a chance to seal the victory for the Cowboys on the 2024 World Champion Bull Man Hater, but the elite animal athlete kept Arizona alive by bucking off Kimzey in a quick 2.41 seconds.

In the process, theJane Clark/Gene Owen bull made it a night to remember, posting the highest bull score in PBR history: 49.5 points. Keyshawn Whitehorse attempted to steal a win for Arizona in the bottom of the fifth, but the veteran was bucked off by Sometimes I Fly in 6.06 seconds to close the book on the second game of the evening. Carolina attempts to remain perfect on the weekend against the Texas Rattlers (8-9) on Sunday, while Arizona takes the day off.

Texas Rattlers Post Four Rides to Beat Florida Freedom Despite Crimber Momentarily Taking No. 1 Spot in MVP Race

In the third game of the second night of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams: Outlaw Days, the Texas Rattlers (8-9) overwhelmed the Florida Freedom (8-9), 352-176.25. Alex Cerqueira attempted to get the Freedom off to a hot start, but he couldn’t hang on to Brown Bomber past 4.65 seconds.

Daniel Keeping was next to go for the Rattlers and the Texan broke the scoreless tie on Barbarosa, giving the defending PBR Teams Champions an 88-point lead.

Following Keeping, Fielder took his re-ride opportunity and matched his teammate on Whiplash for another 88 points. Now down two rides to none, Florida turned to Elizmar Jeremias to try and close the gap, but he was bested by Manaba after 4.86 seconds. Texas now had a chance to put the Freedom away early and Claudio Montanha Jr. secured the win in the bottom of the third, riding Mr. Wilson for 88.25 points.
