Cassio Dias’s walk-off ride leads Kansas City Outlaws to upend Texas Rattlers for third time in 2024 in Anaheim
Carolina Cowboys, Missouri Thunder and Nashville Stampede record wins on final day of competition at PBR Teams: Anaheim inside the Honda Center.
ANAHEIM, Calif. – During the final day of competition at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, 2024 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) World Champion Cassio Dias clinched the win for the Kansas City Outlaws (15-6), 345.75-263.75, with a walk-off 87.25-point ride in their slugfest with the Texas Rattlers (10-11).
As the Outlaws and Rattlers began their third matchup of the season, Brady Fielder put up 86.5 points on Tropic Thunder to give Texas a leadoff score. Sandro Batista, who had slipped to No. 3 in the MVP race after two-time reigning MVP Jose Vitor Leme’s earlier ride, fired out of the chutes on Wingman for 88.25 points for the Outlaws. The qualified ride, his 17th of the season, moved him back into the No. 1 spot in the MVP race.
In the top of the second with Kansas City leading by 1.75 points, the Rattlers looked to Daniel Keeping aboard Pay Dirt to give them their second ride - and he did just that, pulling Texas into the lead with his 88.25-point score. Koltin Hevalow stepped up to get the Outlaws back in the lead in the bottom of the second, conquering Good to Go for 85.5 points to put Kansas City one point behind Texas.
As the battle continued in the third frame, Claudio Montanha Jr. took on Benjamin Ranklin for an impressive 89 points, padding the Rattlers’ lead. Maikon Calixton Rocha fired back for the Outlaws aboard Chicken Joe for 84.75 points, closing the gap to a mere 5.25 points.
Qynn Anderson was then no match for Army Slasher, smashed to the ground after 3.37 seconds and carried out by sports med. In the bottom of the fourth frame, Kansas City’s Brennon Eldred readied for his pairing with Beef Cake but was bucked off after a thrilling 5.86 seconds.
Texas’s usual champion closer, veteran Joao Ricardo Vieira, faltered in his pairing with Sober Train with the clock stopping at 4 seconds after he touched the bull. Reigning World Champion Cassio Dias then stood on the back of the chutes, ready for his matchup with Taz. Having ridden 15 of 26 this season, Dias began celebrating the minute he jumped to the ground – but judges called a review to see if Kansas City’s superstar had actually made the 8. After several nail-biting minutes, it was deemed a qualified ride, and the 87.25-point score secured the win for the Outlaws, 345.75-263.75.
The Outlaws’ by 82-point victory allowed them to hold tight to the No. 2 spot in the league, while the Rattlers, now 10-11 this season, hold the No. 4 spot heading into the Tar Heel state next weekend.
Before that, in a matinee showdown of the league’s leading team and a 2024 expansion team, the Carolina Cowboys (15-4-1) overcame the New York Mavericks (9-12), 172.75-90, during the first game. The Mavericks’ lone score was courtesy of Leandro Machado’s monster 90-point ride aboard triumphant animal athlete Ricky Vaughn.
In the second game of the day, the Missouri Thunder (9-12) logged their ninth game win of the 2024 season, dominating the Austin Gamblers (10-11) in their third matchup of the 2024 season, 266-168. When the two teams last battled, in Austin, Texas, the Gamblers defeated the Thunder in a shutout.
In the last game Sunday afternoon at Honda Center, the Nashville Stampede (9-12) defeated the Oklahoma Wildcatters (8-13-1), 166.25-87, to advance up two spots in the standings, from No. 8 to No. 6.
The evening concluded with the Shootout Round, featuring one rider from each of the night’s winning teams. Keeping the winning streak going on Anaheim’s final day, the Missouri Thunder’s Dawson Gleaves bested July for 89 points in the only ride of the special round.

Carolina Cowboys Hold Tight to No. 1 Spot in Standings after Defeating New York Mavericks on Final Day of Competition at PBR Teams: Anaheim
Carolina Cowboys: 172.75
New York Mavericks: 90
As the second neutral-site PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series event of the 2024 season concluded on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, California, at the Honda Center, the Carolina Cowboys continued to dominate the standings, putting up two rides to defeat the New York Mavericks, 172.75-90. The loss marked New York’s 12th defeat of the season and Carolina’s league-leading 15th win.
In the top of the first, Carolina had 2016 PBR World Champion Cooper Davis in the lead-off role. Launching from the chutes aboard Sharp Shooter, Davis netted 84.75 points to put the Cowboys on the board first. He is now 12-for-20 (60%) this season. Trying to answer back quickly aboard Snoop Dog, Davi Henrique brought the heat for the Mavericks as the ride began but then slid to the side and was bucked off at 7.15 seconds.
The Cowboys then turned to Derek Kolbaba, who had the only qualified ride for Carolina on Friday night, to try to give them their second score, but he was bucked off Body Roc in under 8 seconds. Coach Jerome Davis instantly challenged the ride. After a close review, Carolina won the challenge and Kolbaba was awarded a re-ride. Eager to put the Mavericks on the board, Leonardo Castro took on Hell Bent in the bottom of the second frame, but after having trouble in the chutes and a less-than-ideal ride, red flags flew, and he was awarded a re-ride. Coach Kody Lostroh was presented with the decision to either keep the score or proceed with the re-ride, ultimately choosing to put Leandro Machado in for the re-ride.
Carolina’s momentum continued to stall in the top of the third as Dawson Branton was launched by Whacky Wizard after 5.2 seconds. Out next for the Mavericks in the bottom of the third, newly signed Mason Taylor was having trouble in the chutes with Mighty Mike, so he worked to reset. 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen then blew out of the chutes on Joy’s Bang Bang in the top of the fourth, but the Carolina man was dispatched at 1.94 seconds. Reset and ready to ride, Taylor was unable to convert.
Kolbaba’s re-ride then paired him with Watch Out. Despite a bumpy start, Kolbaba logged an 88-point score, putting the Cowboys even further in the lead, 172.75-0. Kolbaba is now 9-for-20 (45%) this season. Taking the re-ride for Castro, Machado launched from the chutes aboard Ricky Vaughn. The resilient animal athlete soared through the air in perfect time with Machado, earning the pair a monster 90-point ride, and the Mavericks were on the board with just one rider left.
In a must-ride situation, New York’s Hudson Bolton needed a score higher than 82.75 points for New York to stay in the game. Bolton was unable to convert on Long Gone, cementing the win for Carolina. With the game out of reach, 172.75 to 90, the Cowboys decided to substitute Gabriel Silva Morais for their usual closer, Sage Kimzey, who had trouble in the chutes with Sweet Train and got caught underneath the bull. Instantly pulled to safety, Kimzey gave a thumbs up to fans and accepted the re-ride prior to Bolton’s out. Now with the game in hand, Morais took on Geronimo, but the Brazilian hit the ground at 2.72 seconds.
When the dust settled, Carolina won by 82.75 points, knocking off the Mavericks 172.76-90. Via the win, Carolina improved to 15-4-1 this season, holding tight to the No. 1 spot in the league. They are next slated to take on the Kansas City Outlaws when gameplay begins at their homestand event in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Friday, Sept. 20. The Mavericks, who dropped from No. 6 to No. 8 in the standings, now 9-12 in 2024, will look to rebound against the Florida Freedom on night one in North Carolina.
Boudreaux Campbell Holds On for 88.75, Walks Away from the Chaos!
Missouri Thunder Secure Ninth Win of 2024 Season with Victory Over the Austin Gamblers on Final Day of PBR Camping World Team Series Action in Anaheim, California
Missouri Thunder: 266
Austin Gamblers: 168
On Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, California, the Missouri Thunder logged their ninth game win of the 2024 season by putting up three ride scores to dominate the Austin Gamblers, 266-168. Austin, which came into the game having been defeated the night before by the Nashville Stampede, had won both previous meetings with Missouri this season.
The opening frame saw Austin’s Ice Man Kaique Pacheco put the first points on the board after his matchup with Question This. His 84-point score marked his ninth ride of 21 attempts in the 2024 season. Missouri’s Boudreaux Campbell fired back immediately on Gas Money, putting the Thunder in the lead with 88.75 points.
Neither team was able to convert in the second frame. In the top of the third, Callum Miller attempted American Hustle for the Gamblers but rolled to the ground after 4.92 seconds. In the bottom of the frame, Missouri clinched their second qualified ride as 2022 College National Champion Casey Roberts dominated his matchup with Vindicated for an impressive 89.5 points, his first qualified ride of the season. Roberts’s ride put the Thunder 94.25 points in the lead.
In the next out aboard Cold Creek for Austin, Ramon de Lima was unable to convert, giving Missouri captain Andrew Alvidrez a chance to clinch the win on his birthday aboard Cut Bait. As the talented animal athlete jumped, Alvidrez was picturesque to the tune of an 87.75-point ride, securing the win for the Thunder with one frame left to play.
With the scoreboard reading 266-84 in Missouri’s favor, Gamblers closer and MVP race contender Jose Vitor Leme knew the opposing team had already won as he stood on the back of the chutes. Despite that, the league’s No. 1 overall draft pick in 2022 delivered a solid 84-point ride aboard Loren’s Dream. His 16th ride of the season moved him back into the No. 2 spot in the MVP race, and he currently sits in third heading into North Carolina next weekend. The five-on-five showdown was already clinched as Paulo Eduardo Rossetto attempted to ride Life Flight but was unable to convert.
The Thunder moved from No. 9 to No. 7 in the league with their third consecutive Sunday night victory. They will take on the Texas Rattlers on Friday, Sept. 20, as PBR Teams: Cowboy Days kicks off in Greensboro, North Carolina. The No. 5-ranked Gamblers, now 10-11 in 2024, will have a bye the first night in North Carolina.

3x World Champ Silvano Alves Sets the Pace for the Nashville Stampede on Red Dirt
Nashville Stampede Climb to No. 6 in Standings After Defeating Oklahoma Wildcatters on Final Day of Competition in Anaheim, California
Nashville Stampede: 166.25
Oklahoma Wildcatters: 87
The final round of competition at the second neutral-site PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series event in Anaheim saw the Nashville Stampede defeat the Oklahoma Wildcatters, 166.25-87, to advance up two spots in the standings, from No. 8 to No. 6.
In the leadoff role for Nashville, Silvano Alves seemingly covered Red Dirt, but Oklahoma Coach J.B. Mauney instantly issued a challenge, alleging that Alves hit the ground before the 8. After the review, it was deemed a qualified ride for 82 points, Alves’s ninth of the season. Immediately firing back for the Wildcatters was Eduardo Matos aboard Oyster Creek Brawler for 87 points. His 15th ride of the season pulled the Oklahoma team into the lead.
As the game continued, Anderson de Oliveira was successful for Nashville aboard Preston’s Pistol for 84.25 points, while Tate Pollmeier closed out the second frame early for the Wildcatters, bucking off of Steel Dragon.
As the third frame began and Ednelio Almeida readied for his ride on Midnight City, Nashville was ahead by 78.25 points. Almeida was unsuccessful, and all eyes turned to Oklahoma’s Bob Mitchell in the bottom of the third. Mitchell, who was the 2022 Rookie of the Year for PBR and signed with the Wildcatters earlier in the week, was given a re-ride after Quick Show fouled him coming out of the chutes.
Neither team was able to score in the fourth frame. With Nashville holding a one-ride score lead, Kaiden Loud prepared to ride Playmate. Heading into the weekend, Loud was sporting a 50% riding percentage after riding 5 out of 10 thus far in the season. Unable to convert, all eyes turned to Oklahoma, which had two rides remaining to take the lead.
Climbing aboard Black Gold, a bull that bucked him off two years ago, Mitchell clung to the massive bovine but was again defeated, hitting the ground after 3.99 seconds. Stepping up for the Wildcatters in the final ride of the night, Cort McFadden was in a must-ride situation, needing just 79.5 points for his team to take the lead. The Texan went flying through the air as the clock hit 3.86, clinching the win for the Stampede.
The victory allowed Nashville to climb to the No. 6 spot in the league with a 9-12 record. Following the victory, the Stampede will next take on the Arizona Ridge Riders as gameplay kicks off on Friday, Sept. 20, at Cowboy Days in Greensboro, North Carolina. The league No. 9 Wildcatters, now 8-13-1 this season, will have a bye on night one in North Carolina.
