Nashville Stampede conclude homestand with walk-off victory against New York Mavericks

No. 1 Carolina Cowboys remain undefeated, improve to 10-0-1 with win against Florida Freedom.

By Kacie Albert

NASHVILLE – The Nashville Stampede concluded their record-setting PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series homestand with a thrilling walk-off win against the New York Mavericks, earned courtesy of a crucial bottom of the fifth score from their closer Kaiden Loud.

The walk-off win was the second in as many days for the host Stampede. In front of a sold-out Saturday night crowd, Loud converted in the team’s final out to lead them to victory against the Arizona Ridge Riders.

The first four frames of the showdown between Nashville and New York showcased PBR’s animal athletes, with neither team making the requisite 8. As a result, both teams faced must-ride positions in the fifth.

New York was up first as their closer Mauricio Moreira took on Fire Zone. Moreira, however, did not have enough to get past the powerful bull, tossed in 4.59 seconds.

The game then came down to Loud atop Do Dat Eddie. Bursting into the arena inside the home of the NHL’s Nashville Predators, Loud matched the bull jump-for-jump en route to the whistle as the crowd erupted into a deafening roar. Marked 86.25 points, Loud’s score clinched the walk-off win for the 2022 PBR Teams Champion Stampede.

Nashville is now a perfect 2-0 against New York in 2024. The Sunday afternoon win led them to conclude their third annual homestand with a 2-1 record, now 7-5 this season, to climb from No. 4 to No. 3 in the league.

As a result of the loss, New York concluded the Music City event 0-2, now 4-7 this season to slip from No. 8 to No. 10 in the league.

The league No. 1 Carolina Cowboys remained undefeated Sunday afternoon in Nashville, beating the Florida Freedom by two ride scores and 168.75 points, 256.5-87.75. The win, Carolina’s second of the season against Florida, led them to conclude PBR Stampede Days a perfect 3-0, now with an unrivaled 10-0-1 record this season, furthering their grasp on the No. 1 rank in the league.

Carolina earned their tenth win of the season courtesy of scores from Derek Kolbaba, Adriano Salgado and Sage Kimzey, which kept them in control of the lead through the entire game. While Joao Lucas Campos converted for Florida, it was not enough for the Freedom to upset the Cowboys.

Following the loss, the Freedom left Nashville having gone 0-2, slipping to 4-7 this season and from No. 7 to No. 9 in the league.

For the second consecutive night, the league’s reigning Champion Texas Rattlers earned a walk-off win, this time defeating the Missouri Thunder on Sunday afternoon by 87.25 points, 174.75-87.5.

After a scoreless first two frames, both teams converted in the third. Missouri jumped to an 87.5-point lead courtesy of Andrew Alvidrez’ qualified ride on Sin City. Texas, however, cut the lead to 0.25 points in the very next out as Brady Fielder rode Twisted Feather for 87.25 points.

Missouri and Texas then exchanged buckoffs in the fourth, setting up a crucial fifth frame. Thunder closer Paulo Eduardo Rossetto came up short for his team, tossed by Bayou Bad Boy in 5.22 seconds, opening the door for the Rattlers to win in come-from-behind form. In the high-pressure final out for Texas was veteran competitor Joao Ricardo Vieira. Delivering for his team, Vieira rode Mahan for 87.5 points, delivering the Rattlers the come-from-behind, walk-off win, 174.75-87.5. Along with earning his team the win, the score was the 431st of Vieira’s career in premier PBR competition. He is now ranked No. 5 all-time in qualified rides within the PBR.

Courtesy of the win, Texas concluded PBR Stampede Days with a perfect 2-0 record, improving to 4-7 this season. The victory on Sunday afternoon allowed them to rise two spots in the league standings from No. 10 to No. 8. The Thunder return to Missouri having gone 2-1 at the event, now with a 5-7 season record in 2024, remaining No. 5 in PBR Teams.

The Kansas City Outlaws went 4-for-5 in their commanding 337.75-0 win against the scoreless Austin Gamblers. Kansas City has now beaten Austin in both of their showdowns to date in 2024.

The Outlaws were perfect through the first four frames as Sandro Batista, Koltin Hevalow, Bob Mitchell and Maikon Calixto Rocha all made the requisite 8. Kansas City’s hopes of the fourth perfect game in league history, however, came to an end in the fifth as their closer and 2024 PBR World Champion Cassio Dias was bucked off in 5.12 seconds by Stone Cold Gangster.

Kansas City concluded PBR Stampede Days with a perfect 2-0 record, now 7-4 this season. The Gamblers return to Austin having gone 1-2 in Music City, now with a 6-5 record in 2024 competition. Veteran Competitor Joao Ricardo Vieira Propels Texas Rattlers to Walk-Off, Upset Win Against the Missouri Thunder on Final Day of PBR Teams Action in Nashville, Tennessee

Missouri Thunder: 87.5 Texas Rattlers: 174.75

NASHVILLE – The reigning PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams Champion Texas Rattlers began the final day of league action in Nashville, Tennessee, with a bang, earning an upset, walk-off win against the Missouri Thunder courtesy of a crucial bottom of the fifth score from veteran competitor Joao Ricardo Vieira. PBR’s animal athletes dominated the first two frames, as Boudreaux Campbell and Grayson Cole bucked off for the then No. 5 Missouri Thunder, and Daniel Keeping and Brady Oleson were upended for the No. 10 Texas Rattlers.

The tone of the game, however, shifted in the third. In the top of the third, Andrew Alvidrez gave the Thunder a quick 87.5-point lead as he conquered Sin City, improving to a perfect 3-for-3 in Music City. Texas, however, responded in fast form. In the bottom of the frame, the Rattlers closed within 0.25 points of tying the game courtesy of Brady Fielder’s 87.25-point ride atop Twisted Feather. The top of the fourth was met with drama. While Missouri’s Felipe Furlan was initially called for a buckoff just past the 7-second mark on Rowdy, Thunder Head Coach Ross Coleman challenged the call on time. Upon review, PBR’s officials upheld the call in-arena, deeming Furlan bucked off at the 7.23-second mark. As a result, Missouri lost their ability to challenge for the remainder of the game.

The buckoff opened the door for Texas to overtake the lead in the very next out. While he initially appeared centered on Wasted Nights, Qynn Andersen hit the dirt at the 2.59-second mark, resulting in no score for the Rattlers. The final round of outs began with Missouri’s closer Paulo Eduardo Rossetto aboard Bayou Bad Boy. Nodding with confidence, Rossetto matched the bull’s initial moves, but was unseated at the 5.22-second mark, opening the door for Texas to win in walk-off form for the second consecutive night. In the high-pressure out for the Rattlers was veteran contender Vieira on Mahan.

Bursting from the chutes, Vieira remained in perfect time with his animal athlete counterpart, reaching the requisite 8 as the crowd erupted in cheer. Marked 87.5 points, the score delivered Texas the win by 87.25 points, as the final scoreboard read a 174.75-87.5 Rattlers victory. In addition to the score earning Texas the walk-off win, the qualified ride was Vieira’s 431st of his career. He is now ranked No. 5 all-time in qualified rides logged in premier PBR competition. Texas has now beaten Missouri in both of their games in 2024. The Rattlers left the Volunteer State having gone a perfect 2-0, improving to 4-7 this season. Their Sunday afternoon win led them to rise from No. 10 to No. 8 in the league. The Missouri Thunder concluded PBR Stampede Days with a 2-1 record, now 5-7 in 2024 to remain No. 5 in the league.

PBR Teams No. 1 Carolina Cowboys Remain Undefeated, Beating the Florida Freedom by Two Ride Scores on Final Day of League Action in Nashville, Tennessee

Florida Freedom: 87.75 Carolina Cowboys: 256.5

NASHVILLE – The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams No. 1 Carolina Cowboys continued their dominant season Sunday afternoon, remaining undefeated as they beat the Florida Freedom by two ride scores and 168.75 points, 256.5-87.75. The Carolina Cowboys’ perfect 3-0 showing at the Camping World Team Series’ Stampede Days led them to improve to 10-0-1 this season. The game began in dramatic form. After struggling with Rip Tide, Florida’s Thiago Salgado quickly exited the chutes as Freedom Head Coach Paulo Crimber elected to substitute the rider, tapping Gavin Hauck. Hauck, however, was not able to leave the chutes either, with Florida earning a re-ride. Carolina then looked to opener and 2016 PBR World Champion Cooper Davis to give them an early lead.

Davis, however, came down in a close 6.07 seconds on Hunter, resulting in no score. In the team’s first out in the top of the second, Florida stumbled with Alex Cerqueira coming down in 2.96 seconds on Punchy Pete. In the bottom of the frame, the Cowboys became the first to strike. Derek Kolbaba gave Carolina a quick 88.5-point lead as he went the distance on Renegade. Florida then looked to Elizmar Jeremias to give the team their first points, paired with Hunting Trip by Freedom Head Coach Paulo Crimber. While Jeremias was called for a 1.89-second buckoff in arena, Crimber challenged the call, believing the bull fouled himself. Upon review, PBR’s officials found no foul, with the no score remaining in place, and Florida losing their ability to challenge for the remainder of the game.

Before Carolina’s third man took to the chutes, Florida attempted their re-ride with Hauck set to take on Tijuana Two-Step. Hauck initially appeared centered but was ultimately unseated at the 5.21-second mark. In the bottom of the third, it was Adriano Salgado on Jersey Mike for Carolina. Salgado dominated the bull, however, the clock stop just short of the 8-second whistle at 7.99 seconds. The out, however, went into automatic review on time. After careful inspection, PBR’s judges ruled he made the whistle, awarding him an 80.25-point score. Declining the re-ride option, the score led Carolina to grow their lead to two ride scores and 168.75 points. As a result, Florida faced a must-ride position in the top of the fourth, down by two ride scores with just two riders remaining. Joao Lucas Campos delivered in the high-pressure moment for the Freedom, riding Magic Hunter for 87.75 points, cutting Carolina’s lead to 81 points. While Florida kept their hopes of victory alive, Carolina then had the chance to clinch the game win early in the bottom of the fourth should 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen cover two-time PBR YETI World Champion Bull Ridin’ Solo.

As the two titans went head-to-head, Ridin’ Solo emerged the more dominant athlete, whipping Swearingen to the ground in 3.1 seconds. Still in the hunt for the game win, Florida faced their second must-ride situation as their closer, teenage phenom John Crimber settled in on UTZ BesTex Legend. As the high-flying animal athlete burst into the arena, Crimber appeared to be in perfect rhythm, however despite his many mid-out adjustments was brought to the ground just short of the 8 seconds. The out then went into an official’s review and they deemed Crimber slapped the bull at the 7.28-second mark. The no-score from Florida clinched the game win early for Carolina.

The league’s No. 1 team then punctuated their 10th game win of the season with an 87.75-point ride from their closer Sage Kimzey on Blue Suede Shoes. When the dust settled, the Carolina Cowboys beat the Florida Freedom for the second time this season, 256.5-87.75. As the league readies for the sixth event of the season, Carolina’s 3-0 outing in Nashville allowed them to further their grasp on the No. 1 rank in the league, now 10-0-1. Via the loss, the Freedom concluded their time in Music City with an 0-2 record, slipping to 4-7 this season and from No. 7 to No. 9 in the PBR Teams standings.

Kansas City Outlaws Wallop Austin Gamblers by Four Ride Scores on Final Day of PBR Camping World Team Series Competition in Nashville, Tennessee

Kansas City Outlaws: 337.75 Austin Gamblers: 0.00

NASHVILLE – The Kansas City Outlaws delivered a commanding victory against the Austin Gamblers on the final day of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series competition in Nashville, Tennessee, upsetting the league’s then No. 2 team by four ride scores, 337.75-0.00. Kansas City began the game in fast fashion. Sandro Batista covered Whiskey Trip with ease, giving the Outlaws an early 86-point lead. Austin then looked to their opener Dalton Kasel on Kodiac to match the momentum for the Gamblers. While Kasel initially appeared centered, the rope popped out of his hand at the 6.37-second mark, resulting in no score for Austin. Kansas City extended their lead to two ride scores and 168 points in the top of the second as Koltin Hevalow rode Han Solo for 82 points.

The Gamblers then sustained their second close buckoff in as many attempts in the bottom of the frame with 2018 PBR World Champion Kaique Pacheco bested in 7.32 seconds by Magic Fire. In the top of the third, Kansas City’s Bob Mitchell appeared to have covered Midnight Rock, but the clock had stopped at the 4.13-second mark. Outlaws Head Coach J.W. Hart quickly challenged the out on time, sending the trip into review by PBR’s officials. After close inspection, PBR’s team of judges awarded Mitchell a score. Marked 84.75 points, Kansas City grew their lead to 252.75 points, forcing Austin into a must-ride position as the team was now down by three ride scores with just three riders left to go. Ezekiel Mitchell burst from the chutes aboard Coco, but the swift moving bovine whipped him to the dirt in 3.78 seconds. As a result of the buckoff, Kansas City clinched the game win early. The Outlaws’ ride streak continued in the top of the penultimate round of outs.

Maikon Calixto Rocha logged the team’s fourth straight ride in his debut out for the team, marked 85 points on Wokin’ Man. The ride grew Kansas City’s lead to 337.75 points. Austin continued to stumble. Their fourth man, Ramon de Lima, couldn’t get past Wild Card, bested in 6.71 seconds. Kansas City’s hopes of recording the fourth perfect game in league history then came down to 2024 PBR World Champion Cassio Dias aboard Stone Cold Gangster. Calling for the gate, Dias was bucked off in an uncharacteristic 5.12 seconds. Kansas City, however, challenged the call, believing the bull fouled himself leaving the chutes. PBR’s officials, however, disagreed with the no score remaining in place, and Kansas City denied a perfect game.

Austin then looked to their closer and two-time PBR World Champion Jose Vitor Leme atop Uncle Jim to stave off a scoreless defeat. Leme, however, was sent airborne at the 7.58-second mark. The win led Kansas City to improve to a perfect 2-0 against Austin this season. The Outlaws return to Missouri having gone 2-0 at PBR Stampede Days, now 7-4 this season. The win against Austin also led them to overtake the Gamblers for the No. 2 rank in the league. Following the loss, Austin concluded the event 1-2, now 6-5 this season and No. 4 in the PBR Teams standings.

With the scoreboard reading 0-0 ahead of the fifth, it set up a high-pressure final frame for the game.
