By Kacie Albert

DULUTH, Ga. – The Carolina Cowboys knocked off the Kansas City Outlaws by one ride score, 178.5-86.5, Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Georgia, furthering their grasp on the No. 1 rank in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series and remaining undefeated.

Carolina traveled to Gas South Arena fresh off making history at the season-launch event two weeks prior in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, recording the highest aggregate score for any team in just the third perfect game in league history. The only undefeated team in the league with a perfect 5-0 record, they began their showdown with the Outlaws after defeating the then-lossless Arizona Ridge Riders on Friday night and the Austin Gamblers on Saturday.

On Sunday, Carolina looked to log their fifth straight win against the Kansas City Outlaws.

Bookending the game with rides from Cooper Davis and Sage Steele Kimzey, Carolina won by 92 points, 178.5-86.5. The Outlaws avoided being shut out as Koltin Hevalow covered in the bottom of the second.

"It's been a long road from last season,” Kimzey said after securing the victory. “Everybody talked about how talented the Carolina Cowboys were. And everybody saw how far the talent got us. This year, it's digging deep and really finding out a way to win. This is a hard sport. I couldn't be more proud of these guys, the coaching staff, and the front office. There's a reason this organization is doing so good."

The Carolina Cowboys now turn their focus to the upcoming event in Florida firmly ranked No. 1 in the league, two games ahead of the No. 2 Arizona Ridge Riders.

Kansas City, who went 1-2 in Georgia, slipped from No. 3 to No. 5 in the league, now with a 3-2 record.

The final day of neutral-site competition inside Gas South Arena – the second event of the 12-event regular season – featured the first-ever showdown between the league’s only two champions – the 2022 Champion Nashville Stampede and 2023 Champion Texas Rattlers.

Nashville cruised to a three-score victory, defeating the Rattlers 258.75-0. The Stampede’s win was powered by 8-second efforts from Ednelio Almeida, Mason Taylor and Kaiden Loud.

When gameplay concluded, Nashville went a perfect 2-0 in Georgia to improve to 3-2 across the 2024 season. They gained four positions in the league standings, rising from No. 7 to No. 3, climbing within two games of No. 1 Carolina.

Texas delivered a 1-2 record inside Gas South Arena. They slipped to 2-3 throughout the campaign, dropping from No. 6 to No. 7 in the league standings.

In the first game of the afternoon, the New York Mavericks reached a crucial team milestone, logging their first victory, upsetting the scoreless Oklahoma Wildcatters 85.5-0. The win was earned courtesy of a crucial fourth-frame score from Leandro Machado.

Via the win, the Mavericks went 1-1 in Georgia and are now 1-4 throughout 2024, remaining No. 10 in the league. Oklahoma left the Peach State having gone 1-1, now with a 3-2 season record. They remained No. 4 in PBR Teams.

The Missouri Thunder registered an upset victory against the Arizona Ridge Riders on Sunday afternoon. Courtesy of scores from Dawson Gleaves and Grayson Cole, Missouri beat Arizona by 84.75 points, 174-89.25.

The Ridge Riders staved off a scoreless loss as veteran Eduardo Aparecido converted in the second.

Missouri left Georgia having gone 1-1 and are now 2-3 in 2024. They rose two positions in the league standings, climbing from No. 8 to No. 6.

Arizona concluded the league’s first neutral-site event with a 1-2 record inside Gas South Arena, now 3-2 across the season. They remained No. 2 in PBR Teams.

The event in Georgia then concluded with the Shootout Round, featuring one rider from each of the day’s winning teams. As the only rider to make the 8-second whistle, the Nashville Stampede’s Alan de Souza won the special round, besting Dark Thoughts for 87.75 points. DULUTH, Ga. –On Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Georgia, the New York Mavericks reached a crucial team milestone, winning their first game in team history with an 85.5-0 upset victory against the then league No. 2 Oklahoma Wildcatters on the final day of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series competition inside Gas South Arena. The Mavericks are one of two expansion teams to join the PBR Teams league in 2024.

Both New York and Oklahoma stumbled in the first. Mavericks’ opener Braidy Randolph was sent flying by Coco in 2.48 seconds, while the Wildcatters’ Eduardo Matos was bested by Boomerang in a close 7.16 seconds.

In the second, the Mavericks looked to Davi Henrique de Lima to give them an early lead, but he was unable to get past Norse God, hitting the dirt inside Gas South Arena in 2.93 seconds. In the bottom of the second, Cort McFadden was bucked off by Snuggles in 4.39 seconds, but Wildcatters’ Head Coach J.B. Mauney used his challenge, believing the bull fouled himself. PBR officials found no foul and the no score remained in place, causing Oklahoma to lose their challenge for the remainder of the game.

Both teams then began the fourth still searching for a score as Mauricio Moreira and Kase Hitt were unsuccessful for New York and Oklahoma, respectively. New York became the first team to convert in the top of the fourth, surging to an 85.5-point lead as Leandro Machado delivered his first qualified ride for the Mavericks atop Black 6. Oklahoma failed to respond in the bottom of the penultimate round of outs as young gun Clay Guiton was launched by Buzz in 2.62 seconds.

Via the buckoff, New York had the chance to clinch the game win early as closer Ernie Courson settled in atop Levy. Nodding with confidence, Courson appeared centered atop the powerful animal athlete but was unseated at the 4.73-second mark, opening the door for Oklahoma to win the game in walk-off form. In the high-pressure moment for the Wildcatters was Josh Frost, tasked with YETI PBR World Champion Bull contender UTZ BesTex Legend. 2022 PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede Throttle League’s Reigning Champion Texas Rattlers by Three Ride Scores on Final Day of Camping World Team Series Competition in Duluth, Georgia

Nashville Stampede: 258.75 Texas Rattlers: 0.00

DULUTH, Ga. – As the only two PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams World Champions went head-to-head Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Georgia, the 2022 Champion Nashville Stampede throttled the league’s reining title-holding Texas Rattlers by three ride scores, winning 258.75-0 on the final day of Camping World Team Series competition inside Gas South Arena.

The Showdown of Champions began with some dramatics. While Nashville opener Ednelio Almeida celebrated what he believed was a qualified ride atop Peterbilt, the clock had stopped prior to the requisite 8 for an apparent slap. However, upon close review, PBR’s officials did not discover a slap, awarding Nashville a score and allowing them to surge to an early 85.5-point lead. Texas was unable to keep pace in the bottom of the first, as veteran Joao Ricardo Vieira was bested by Roc Solid in a close 6.28 seconds.

Nashville and Texas then exchanged buckoffs in the second, as Alan de Souza was launched by Electric Kitty in 2.38 seconds for the Stampede and Brady Oleson was unseated by Cajun Brute in 4.46 seconds for the Rattlers.

In the top of the third, Nashville grew their lead to 171.25 points as Mason Taylor conquered Great Balls of Fire for 85.75 points. Texas continued to struggle in the bottom of the frame, remaining shut out by PBR’s bovine stars as Jesse Petri was sent to the ground inside Gas South Arena in 6.19 seconds.

Nashville then had the chance to clinch the game win early in the top of the fourth, poised to pull ahead by three ride scores with just two Rattlers remaining. In the possible game-winning moment was young gun Kaiden Loud aboard Bandito Bug. Loud answered the call for his team in commanding form, leading the 2022 PBR Teams World Champion Nashville Stampede to victory against the reigning title-holding Rattlers as he rode Bandito Bug for 87.5 points.

Texas again stubbed its toe in the bottom of the fourth when Aussie sensation Brady Fielder was slung by Cy Young in 4.81 seconds. The game then concluded with a pair of buckoffs, as neither Silvano Alves nor Daniel Keeping found the whistle for Nashville and Texas, respectively.

When the bucking concluded, Nashville won by three ride scores, defeating the scoreless Rattlers 258.75-0.00. Nashville concluded its time in Georgia with a perfect 2-0 record, now 3-2 across 2024. It rose four positions in the league standings, climbing from No. 7 to No. 3. The Rattlers went 1-2 inside Gas South Arena and are now 2-3 this season. Missouri Thunder Upset Arizona Ridge Riders on Final Day of PBR Camping World Team Series Action in Duluth, Georgia

Missouri Thunder: 174 Arizona Ridge Riders: 89.25

DULUTH, Ga. – As PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series competition in Duluth, Georgia, concluded Sunday afternoon, the Missouri Thunder upset the Arizona Ridge Riders by one ride score, winning the five-on-five showdown 174-89.25.

Arizona began the game with an uncharacteristic error. Moving into the lead-off position for the Ridge Riders, Luciano de Castro was disqualified after he failed to nod before the 30-second chute clock expired on his out with Soul Train. Missouri capitalized on Arizona’s stumble. Opener Dawson Gleaves gave the Thunder an early 85.75-point lead as he conquered Wishful Thinking.

Arizona wouldn’t remain scoreless for long. In the top of the second, veteran Eduardo Aparecido gave Arizona a 3.5-point lead as he reached the whistle with ease atop Black Fury for 89.25 points. Missouri then turned to Briggs Madsen atop Sundance to put them back in front. Madsen, however, was unable to deliver for his team, hitting the ground in a hard-fought 6.45 seconds.

Arizona could not grow its lead in the top of the third as Eli Vastbinder failed to cover Dana White’s Twisted Steel, hitting the dirt in 3.13 seconds. Missouri then regained its winning form in the bottom of the third as Grayson Cole gave the Thunder back the game lead by 84.75 points, topping Red Mosquito for a commanding 88.25 points.

Following a Ridge Ridger buckoff in the top of the fourth, as Keyshawn Whitehorse was tossed by Mojo Bone in 3.36 seconds, Missouri had the chance to clinch the game win early in the bottom of the fourth. In the possible game-winning moment was Paulo Eduardo Rossetto atop Whisky Trip. Bursting from the chutes, Rossetto was called for a slap at the 1.51-second mark. The Thunder, however, quickly challenged the call, believing Whisky Trip fouled himself, causing the slap. Upon review, PBR’s officials agreed, awarding Missouri a re-ride.

Arizona then found themselves in a must-ride position as its closer, Bruno Carvalho, settled in atop Coach. Carvalho burst from the chutes, but the clock stopped at the 3-second mark. Ridge Rider Head Coach Colby Yates quickly challenged the call, and while PBR’s officials changed the buckoff time to 7.53 seconds, it did not result in a score for Arizona, resulting in their loss to Missouri.

The game then concluded with back-to-back outs for the Thunder. After closer Felipe Furlan was bested by Simon in 2.2 seconds, Boudreaux Campbell attempted the team’s re-ride bull Wooderson but was whipped down in a close 5.96 seconds.

When the bucking concluded, the Thunder beat the Ridge Riders by 84.75 points, 174-89.25. Compliments of the win, Missouri concluded the event in Georgia having gone 1-1, now 2-3 this season. They rose two positions in the league standings, elevated from No. 8 to No. 6. The Ridge Riders left Gas South Arena having gone 1-1, and are now 3-2 in 2024, remaining No. 2 in PBR Teams.

League No. 1 Carolina Cowboys Improve to a Perfect 5-0 in 2024 with Victory Against the Kansas City Outlaws on Final Day of PBR Camping World Team Series Event in Duluth, Georgia

Carolina Cowboys: 178.5 Kansas City Outlaws: 86.5

DULUTH, Ga. – The Carolina Cowboys continued to ride white hot on Sunday evening in Duluth, Georgia, furthering their stronghold on the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series No. 1 rank as they remained undefeated. They improved to a perfect 5-0 by knocking off the Kansas City Outlaws by 92 points, 178.5-86.5.

Carolina began the game in commanding form. They surged to a quick 88.5-point lead courtesy of a qualified ride from their opener and 2016 PBR World Champion Cooper Davis aboard Boujee Boy. The Outlaws couldn’t keep pace with the Cowboys in the bottom of the first as Sandro Batista was tossed in a quick 3.51 seconds by Smooth Criminal.

In the top of the second, Carolina stumbled as Derek Kolbaba was bucked off in 2.43 seconds by Come Apart. Opening the door for Kansas City, the Outlaws closed within 2 points of the lead as Koltin Hevalow rode Stryker for 86.5 points in the bottom of the frame.

Both teams then struck out in the third as Adriano Salgado was bucked off by Air Marshall in an ever-close 7.63 seconds for Carolina, and Brennon Eldred was upended in 1.84 seconds by Mesquite for Kansas City.

In the top of the fourth, Carolina earned a re-ride as Shivers fouled himself during his out with 2022 PBR World Champion Daylon Swearingen. The Outlaws’ fourth man, Julio Cesar Marques, then came up short in the bottom of the fourth as he was bested by Beef Cake in 2.35 seconds. However, Outlaws coaches J.W. Hart and Guilherme Marchi challenged the call, believing the bull fouled himself. PBR officials did not find a foul, with the no-score remaining in place and the Outlaws losing their challenge for the remainder of the game.

The fifth then began with Carolina closer Sage Steele Kimzey aboard Punchy Pete. Delivering for his team, Kimzey logged a monster 90 points to give the Cowboys a 92-point lead. Before Kansas City would attempt its final bull, Swearingen settled in atop the team’s re-ride bull, Mahan, with the chance to clinch the game win early. He bucked off in 4.33 seconds, and the door remained open for a Kansas City walk-off win.

The fate of the game then came down to Outlaws closer and 2024 PBR World Champion Cassio Dias on Ghost Face in a familiar showdown. Ghost Face was one of the few bulls to buck off Dias during the 2024 Unleash The Beast season, getting the better of the eventual World Champion in 3.04 seconds in mid-February in Los Angeles. After diligent preparations, Dias called for the gate but was quickly dislodged, hitting the ground in 2.18 seconds to cement the Carolina victory.

Carolina, the only undefeated team remaining in the league, went a perfect 3-0 in Georgia and is now 5-0 in 2024, firmly ranked No. 1 in PBR Teams. It leads the No. 2 Arizona Ridge Riders by two games. With the loss, Kansas City left Georgia having gone 1-2 at the event, now 3-2 across the season, falling from No. 3 to No. 5 in the league.
