FORT WORTH, Texas – Ahead of the third season for the ground-breaking PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams league, the reigning PBR Teams World Champion Ariat Texas Rattlers today announced their 2024 game and broadcast schedule.
The Ariat Texas Rattlers are the Metroplex’s first-ever professional bull riding team. After making history in 2022 as the first team in league history to log a perfect game by going 5-for-5, they upped the ante in 2023, capping their torrid season by being crowned the 2023 PBR Teams Champion. They joined the MLB’s Texas Rangers in bringing a sporting world title back to Dallas-Fort Worth in 2023.
The 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series season, beginning on July 12-14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will include homestand events hosted by each of the league’s 10 teams, accompanied by two, three-day neutral site events. Following the PBR Teams league’s expansion to 10 teams for its third season, with the regular-season schedule now featuring 12 events, each team will receive seven byes during the campaign.
The season will conclude in Las Vegas for the PBR Teams Championship, which will debut a new playoff format. The season-ending event will begin with a Ride-in-Round on October 17 at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. During the Ride-in-Round, the four lowest-ranked teams in the standings will compete, with the two winning teams advancing to set the eight-team Championship at T-Mobile Arena on October 18-20.
Ahead of the 2024 season, the Texas Rattlers joined forces with Chevron to launch a landmark charity initiative. During the 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series regular season, Chevron will donate $800 to nonprofits in the Permian Basin, including the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center Hippotherapy Program, FFA programs in MISD and ECISD, and the Reeves County Junior Livestock Show, for every qualified ride logged by a member of Ariat Texas Rattlers.
The Texas Rattlers will host their third annual homestand, and eleventh event of the regular season, Rattlers Days, on Sept. 26-28 in Fort Worth, Texas, at Cowtown Coliseum and Dickies Arena. During their event, they will play the Oklahoma Wildcatters (Sept. 26), Austin Gamblers (Sept. 27), and 2022 PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede (Sept. 28).
The Texas Rattlers are the lone team in the league to be undefeated at home, having won both of their homestands in the first two seasons of PBR Teams, going a perfect 6-0 in gameplay. Not only will the Rattlers return to Fort Worth keen to keep their winning streak alive, but they will do so as the reigning PBR Teams World Champions.
In 2024, the Texas Rattlers and Austin Gamblers will go head-to-head in a rivalry series, the Texas Cup. This showdown is not only a repeat of the game that determined the 2023 PBR Teams Championship, but it will also determine which team is the best in Texas. The two squads will go head-to-head for the glittering Texas Cup three times during the season on Aug. 3 in Sunrise, Florida, Aug. 24 in Austin, Texas, and Sept. 27 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Texas will also thrice take on Oklahoma in bull riding’s version of the Red River Showdown. After the Rattlers take on the Wildcatters to open their season on July 12 in Oklahoma City, the two powerhouses will play on Aug. 25 in Austin, Texas, and Sept. 26 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Throughout the campaign, the Ariat Texas Rattlers will also play 2022 PBR Teams Champion Nashville Stampede three times in a showdown of Champions. Both the Rattlers and Stampede are chasing history this season, attempting to become the first team to win the PBR Teams Championship multiple times.
New broadcast rights agreements with CBS and Merit Street Media will bring all 140 of the league’s regular-season games, along with the Championship event, to fans in consistent broadcast windows on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET, Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET, and Sundays at 3 p.m. ET throughout the season with limited exceptions.
Every out from the regular season, plus the playoffs, will be carried by CBS Television Network, showcasing its “Game of the Week” broadcasts, and Merit Street, which will add pre- and post-game coverage and shoulder programming including relaunching PBR Now, a one-hour weekly deep dive into the evolving season.
