FORT WORTH, Texas – Logging their first qualified rides, respectively, during this weekend’s 2024 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast – Eliminations en route to tying for Saturday night’s Round 3 win, No. 2 John Crimber and No. 15 Daylon Swearingen produced matching 89.25-point efforts to split the honors.
Another night of action-packed showdowns inside the legendary Cowtown Coliseum venue featured a combined seven qualified rides as the tour’s top-tier bovines continued to strut their stuff.
But with both of the round-winning cowboys coming close to the coveted 90-point mark, there were plenty of flashes from the world’s best bull riders as they continued to battle it out during the first of three postseason stages.
Crimber, who was not only searching for his first-ever World Finals conversion but putting on a show for his favorite NCAA athlete, cashed in at the perfect time. Dancing with Brown Bomber to the whistle, he pointed at his fan-turned-friend in the audience before tossing his helmet and bringing some sincere energy into the building.

Knowing his spot at next weekend’s 2024 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast – Championship has essentially been clinched for a month or two, as he’s served as the circuit’s No. 2-ranked rider for a majority of his standout rookie season, he wasn’t looking to limp into the final weekend of competition.
He wanted to ride his way there, en route to collecting a couple points and a life-sized check or two in the process.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, 2022 World Champion Daylon Swearingen entered Saturday night’s third round ranked No. 20 overall, thus on the outside of the bubble. With the tour’s Top 15-ranked riders, plus the Top 5 in this weekend’s event aggregate (ranked outside the Top 15), set to punch their berths to next weekend’s Championship sessions inside AT&T Stadium May 18-19, the Monster Energy athlete knew he had some work to do.

Harnessing the pressure of his up-and-down campaign while staying loose and attempting to enjoy his weekend, his odds of some more smiles, and in corresponding fashion, the likelihood he qualifies for next weekend’s showdown, both increased Saturday night as he exited his Round 3 matchup with flying colors.
Scored a season-high 89.25 points for his 8 seconds of work aboard Hoka Hey (marking the fourth time the World Champion has bested said animal athlete), it was good to see the Piffard, New York, native resume his title-contending form.
Equally as important for his Carolina Cowboys squad, which will very much welcome back a healthy, and swag-forward, version of Swearingen when the 5-on-5 series ramps up activity here at the end of the month.
But for now, Swearingen will keep his eye on the leaderboard and his head in the game as he prepares for a Sunday afternoon showdown against Doze You Down, the very bull he selected last night during the Round 4 bull draft.
Crimber opted into a matchup with Ugly This.
While they both bring some momentum into the final frame, the duo sits behind No. 9 Kaiden Loud, who’s popped off for an amazing 3-for-3 slate during his inaugural World Finals appearance.

The only rider to stay perfect throughout the first three sessions, Loud has commanded the attention of the arena each and every time he’s loaded into the chutes.
Most recently besting Renegade for a sound 88.5 points Saturday, the Nashville Stampede rider settled for a third-place finish in Round 3, extending his ride streak to three while continuing to position himself for a favorable aggregate finish.
Beginning the weekend ranked No. 20 overall, he’s all the way up to the No. 9 spot courtesy of his postseason grind.
With the greater Dallas-Fort Worth region expecting some showers throughout Sunday afternoon, there’s no better place to stay dry while soaking up, literally, the most-talented cowboys on the planet!
