FORT WORTH, Texas – Set to rejoin the pack Saturday night inside AT&T Stadium after being involved in quite the nasty wreck last week, No. 1 Cassio Dias isn’t taking his Iron Man 2.0 title lightly.
Just one week after being stepped on during his Round 3 Eliminations matchup, thus enduring some back injuries amongst a few other bumps and bruises, he won’t just be returning to the dirt with a bit of a back brace and less than 100% bill of health.

Which is 100% part of being a cowboy, no doubt. But the 22-year-old's consistent ability to show up has the industry comparing him to none other than J.W. Hart.
There’s also a chance he’s rocking an actual piece of lore-forward memorabilia from his legendary hero, Lane Frost, as fellow legend Cody Lambert and family (who had a family-like relationship with the talent) passed on a competition shirt and pair of chaps earlier this season.
And if that doesn’t give you chills just thinking about it, it sure may when you see it come to life Saturday night.
Receiving a chance to return to action with a pair of top-tier rematch opportunities, the standout Kansas City Outlaws product will look to once again put his skillset on display during the 2024 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast - Championship.
Set to dance with Mike’s Motive in Round 1 (who he’s previously bested for 90.5 and 91.25 points) before taking on Big Chew in the second round (who he’s 1-0 aboard, courtesy of an 88.5-point conversion from last summer) will the rookie runaway be able to seal the deal inside the home of the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys?
Or will his partially banged-up status keep the door open for No. 2 John Crimber and company?
When you consider Dias brings a 487.5-point lead over his fellow first-year competitor, a pair of qualified rides Saturday night would all but clinch the title for the skilled Brazilian should Crimber, No. 3 Eduardo Aparecido and No. 4 Dalton Kasel exit the first session rideless.
But knowing they have consistently been the three closest threats to Dias, we would expect them to show up with everything they’ve got. That can be said for any of the 25 in the draw, with both Round 1 and 2 awarding $50,000 to round-winning talents.
Crimber, specifically, though will have the spotlight on him, as he was the only cowboy of the four to go 2-for-4 inside Cowtown Coliseum during the tour’s Eliminations rounds. Despite starting his weekend a bit slow, the 18-year-old phenom made sure to take advantage of his last two opportunities to stir up some dust, eventually converting in Rounds 3 and 4 with respective 89.25 and 89.75-point strikes.
Not to mention the fact the youngster stormed into his first-ever Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) event two weekends back (which happened to be the Velocity Tour Finals) to get some momentum flowing with his first expansion series victory.
Currently sitting as the odds-on favorite to be selected No. 1 overall by his father’s Florida Freedom during the 2024 PBR Teams New Rider Draft later this month, can the son of Paulo Crimber further embrace the year one limelight by surpassing Dias for what would include both the 2024 PBR Rookie of the Year honors and 2024 World Championship itself?
It sure would be a significant stamp on his already impressive rookie resume.
Knowing the overall event winner will receive 400 UTB points for a victory and each of the four round winners will collect 80 UTB points, there are several potential outcomes as to how this year’s World Championship race plays out.
With more than 21,000 expected during the opening session inside Jerry World, fans will be treated to a truly epic Championship experience as the world’s top-ranked bull riders leave it all on the line.
Punching last-minute tickets, however very much still in the conversation for this weekend’s event title, hundreds of thousands of dollars in payouts and the lasting glory of performing on the industry’s grandest stage, each of Daniel Keeping, Shane Scott, Bob Mitchell, JaCauy Hale and Mauricio Gulla Moreira technically have the freshest of momentous winds beneath their wings.
Saturday’s mainstage will indeed be inside the state-of-the-art complex come 7:45 p.m. CDT, but the festivities start hours before, with tons of musical acts, PBR Teams-based fun, partnership activations, fan giveaways and beyond set to entertain attendees outside AT&T Stadium throughout the afternoon.
