EUGENE, Ore. – After the first night of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s (PWVT) PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Eugene, Shane Scott (Molalla, Oregon) holds the lead after his opening round victory in front of his home-state fans.

The first qualified ride of the night, Scott sat tall aboard Maximum Velocity (Big Bend/Flying Five) for a Round 1-winning 85.5 points.

Paired with Timmy (Corey & Lange Rodeo) for his second out of the night, Scott rocketed out of the chutes but was unseated after 2.26 seconds.

Scott netted 28 Velocity Global points for his 1-for-2 performance Friday evening.

The only other ride of the night belonged to Pokey Houghton (St. George, Utah).

The Utahn roared out of the gates aboard Catfish Joe (Corey & Lange Rodeo), posting a solid 84.5-point performance to begin his weekend.

Looking to take the event lead, Houghton shot out of the chutes on Pogo (JD Nix Rodeo Co.) in Round 2 but was bested by the powerful bovine competitor after 5.15 seconds.

Velocity Global points contribute to the Velocity Global Standings and determine which new riders are added to the elite Unleash The Beast throughout the season. The Top 3 Velocity Global riders who have not already qualified are also invited to the PBR World Finals in May.

Leading the way for a rank pen that allowed just two rides was Snoop Dog (Hawkins Bucking Bulls), marked 43.5 points for his 2.84-second buck off of Tommy Denny (Chico, California) in Round 1.
